Can u pls do a story where like Hyunjin/Lee know is touching u during class? (Pls I’m desperate😭😭😭)
Casual Distractions
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/n: I'm so sorry it took so long. Life has been kicking my ass. Hope you enjoy!
Warnings: smut, public scenes, social anxiety, threesome? Mxm, bullying, language
You were new to this college, and it didn't help that the language was more than difficult to learn. You were nearly fluent, but knew nothing if the inside jokes or curse words, which was almost everyone your ages' dialogue.
You found it hard to make friends after the transfer, but one person was always kind to you.
His name was Han, and his English was perfect almost. He helped you out in certain course since you shared them, helping you with your pronunciation and all that jazz.
He eventually introduced you to his group of friends that had been together forever. Eight in total.
They were known as Strays. They couldn't be more different from one another. And to top it off, most of them knew English. Two were Australian, and one had lived in America for a short time.
Ironically near you, actually.
All of them were polite to you, but you kept your distance, not trying to force yourself in.
It had been months since you met them all, and it had become routine for you to sit with them in the cafeteria per Felix's request.
You still kept quiet, not confident on your Korean yet.
One day, you and Han were having a study session at your dorm, and got on the topic of crushes.
"If you had to pick between any of my friends, who would you want to fuck you?" He asked randomly, his face blank as if it were the most natural question.
You nearly choked on nothing, staring at him in shock.
"Excuse me?"
He looked at you, confused.
"I said, if one of my friends-"
"I know what you said, Han! But why?" You scoffed, jabbing at his shoulder playfully.
He pretended it hurt, sticking his tongue to you.
"Who do you think is hot? That's what I meant, y/n! Gosh," He grinned, watching your ears turn pink.
"What makes you think I like any of them?" You ask, your fingers fiddling with the edge of your textbook.
"Girl. It's a hypothetical question.." His eyes squint at you in silent question, and smile playing on his face.
You pause to think, unsure if you should tell him, knowing he was a blabber mouth. But you could easily say it was hypothetical just as Han did.
"Uhh, maybe....Hyunjin? Or-"
"I knew it! I knew you like him- wait did you just say 'or'?" He paused his prediction, wanting to hear who else you were going to say.
"I was gonna say, or Minho, Han."
You both sat there, looking at one another. He blinked while you shifted uncomfortably, not used to long periods of eye contact.
"Why him? Have either of you even said a word to one another?" He flicked at his pencil, holding it as if he were going to write.
"Not really...he's just gorgeous, you know?" You mutter, turning your attention back to your notebook. You felt judged despite them being friends. It almost seemed as if he were disappointed.
"Your right," you could hear the smile behind his words, making you look back up, returning it brightly.
"To be fair, though, we're all gorgeous, girly," He pitched his voice, flashing his undone nails making you cackle.
He lightened the mood knowing you weren't feeling right with how it was going. It was the main reason he was your best friend. He understood.
You both continued to joke and study, getting ready for the upcoming class.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day, the only class you don't have with Han is the class you have with Hyunjin and Minho, ironically.
Hyunjin always says hello, and Lee Know just nods at you with a smile, but today, neither of them did so.
You looked at them multiple times, noticing how they glanced at you some times. It made you nervous. You wondered if you did something wrong that offended them.
They never sat next to you, but today they seemed farther than usual.
Their shoulders raised higher than they should be, almost making it seem like they were out of breath.
You were about to text Han in question, but the teacher called you out.
"Y/n, please step outside for your phone call seeing as it is more important than class,"
You looked up, seeing everyone's head snap towards you. Your heart stopped, "No, I-" your words got caught in your throat as you cleared it loudly.
You felt your face flush.
Sighing in defeat, you grabbed your belongings and darted out the door, catching the way Lee Know and Hyunjin looked at you with what looked like pity.
You held your head low, sighing loudly when you reached the empty hallway.
You walked towards the girls restroom, stopping before the janitors closet, just hoping for some quiet.
It doesn't last long.
You heard a door snap from behind you, making you jump, turning to see if you were in anyone's way.
But it was just the two boys you had been worried about all day.
"You okay, y/ninnie? We saw you freeze in the back," Hyunjin observed, his hands in his pockets as he stood to your right, Minho on the other.
"Oh! Yeah, M'okay. Just want the world to swallow me right now," you chuckled, your shoulders deflating.
"Don't worry about that asshole, okay? Just giving you a hard time," Minho scoffed, staring at the door leading to his classroom.
"Why are you guys out here, though? He's going over the test on Monday." You wonder, not wanting them to fail because they were worried about you.
"We just wanted to see you," Hyunjin said, making you confused.
"See me? You see me every other day," you reply, tilting your head.
"We just have something on our minds I guess. You are the only person we can talk to about it though," Hyunjin grinned, nudging against Minho, who smiled wickedly next to him.
Your heart dropped.
"A little Birdy may have told us something you said from yesterday," Minho growled, bringing his arm to cage your left to the wall while Hyunjin did the same on the other side. You squeezed, making them chuckle.
"Hans a liar," you whispered, feeling your face warm up.
"Are you sure, baby? Cause we can give you what you want," Hyunjin groaned next to your ear, your body shivering in anticipation.
"I-I-" you stuttered, your breathing suddenly shallow as you try to clear your foggy mind.
"Relax," Minho whispered.
Thats when you heard a door handle turning behind you, the wall disappearing that held you, making you fall. But Hyunjin was behind you in seconds, gently bringing you to the tile floor in the closet, Minho closing and locking the door behind him.
You three had officially now moved out of the public eye, away from any onlookers.
"This okay, Princess?" Minho asks as he kneels next to you, your faces inches away.
You breathe out a shaky yes before he nods, looking at your lips then back to you.
He leans in, locking his lips with yours as he started gentle, quickly becoming more rough but the second.
You moaned into Minho as you felt another pair of hands fondling your clothes breasts.
Hyunjin took his time, not bothering to take of your shirt, hoping you wouldn't look like walking sex by the time they were done with you.
He wanted to feel your nipple between his teeth, but he told himself to wait. That they can have you properly after school.
Minho growled into the kiss, shoving his tongue down your throat as you panted into his mouth.
"Let me have a turn, hyung!" Hyunjin whined as he played with your clothes nubs.
Minho pulled himself off of you, grunting. You didn't like the loss if contact, grabbing at his forearms.
"Finally," Hyunjin chuckled, grabbing the back of your head to pull you into him.
His lips crashed against yours, the rhythm easy to control.
Lee Know took his chance to run his hand up your skirt, fisting the fabric of your underwear before pushing them aside.
He ran his fingers through your slick folds, moaning at the feeling of your excessive wetness.
He shoved his middle finger into your hole, pumping slowly as Hyunjin sucked the air from you.
You were both moaning, the kiss getting sloppier until it was just wet pecks.
"Feel good, baby?" Hyunjin asked as he listened to Minho add another finger, the slickness making a sinful sound in the quiet closet."S'good,"
Your head tilted back, Hyunjin takes his chance to nip at your collar bone, leaving a trail of marks. He tried keeping them close to your neckline, hoping you could hide them.
You grabbed at his hair with a moan, pulling it gently as Minho quickened his pace.
He groaned against your neck, teeth scraping against the purple spots now blossoming on your neck.
They both kept at it until you felt the knot forming in your stomach.
"There!" You plead, Lee Know hitting your g-spot roughly now with three fingers.
"Here, baby?" He teases, now hitting it harder.
You were writhing underneath them as you felt your wife snap, your high washing over you suddenly.
Your body shook from overstimulation, nearly crying as they pushed themselves from you after you came down.
"That felt so good," You mutter, your eyes fluttering shut.
They both smirked at one another.
When you opened your eyes, you saw Minho pushing his wet fingers into Hyunjins mouth, his eyes rolling back at the taste of you.
The sight of them being intimate made your hole clench around nothing.
"Come over after school?" You asked them quietly, and try both nodded.
"we'll make you feel a lot more, I promise," Hyunjin smirked, pecking your lips gently. Minho did the same, helping you up.
All the way to class, you could feel your slick drip down lower on your thigh, making you both embarrassed and aroused as you thought about what they would do to you.

Gold chain (pt2) | Leah Williamson
Leah, among other things, can be a bit of a distraction for your game… but just a bit. warnings: none, just fluff and slow burn note: a short one for today,, thanks for all the love in the pt1 :( pt1 - pt3 my masterlist
It had been three days since Leah had received the Instagram notification. Every morning, she took a moment to think about whether it was a good idea to text you or not. So far, you had liked her latest post, and Leah was hoping to return the gesture, but unfortunately for her you hadn't posted anything new since your picture holding the Roland Garros trophy. Not even a story she could react to. Nothing.
“So... how's it going?” her mother asked that afternoon. Leah had gone to visit her, finding herself with more free time now that the season had ended, not much to do aside from the occasional interview and events, nothing too physically demanding for her.
“Well, I have an interview with the BBC in a couple of days, so that's keeping me busy” Leah said, pacing around the dining room, her eyes wandering over the photographs on one of her mother’s many shelves.
“I'm not talking about work. I'm talking about your girl!” Amanda shouted from the kitchen.
"Stop calling her that. I still can't believe you embarrassed me in front of her” Leah retorted. Just then, something over the fireplace caught her attention.
Right in the center, where her picture holding up the Euro usually was, now stood a small transparent box. Inside was your autographed tennis ball. Leah picked up the box and couldn't help but smile at the sight of your signature, along with a smiley face.
“Hey, leave that there” her mother scolded as she entered the dining room with the two plates of food for dinner.
“This should be mine, I'm her fan,” Leah said, fiddling with the box in her hand.
“Did you help Y/N win her trophy?” her mother retorted.
“Well, I got you there in the first place” Leah defended herself, placing the box back in its spot.
"Too bad that gift was given to me. If you want a ball, ask her for it." Amanda teased.
“You're my mother. You should be nicer to me.” Leah countered, taking a seat.
"Yes, I am your mother, but I didn't raise a coward," Amanda said with a teasing smile. “Now eat”
Leah bit her lip nervously as she stared at her phone screen. The chat with you was open, and a picture of the autographed ball at her mother’s house was ready to be sent.
God, why was she so nervous? She had captained the England women's team to their first major title in history, yet now she was afraid to send a simple message.
“Screw it,” she muttered, hitting send.
“My mom won't let me touch the ball you gave her.”
Leah panicked as soon as the text was sent and quickly locked her phone. She glanced at her watch, it was past eleven o’clock at night, and she didn’t even know where in the world you were right now. The best thing to do was to go to bed and try not to think about the message. Maybe, if she was lucky, you would read it and respond in the morning.
Within half an hour Leah was in bed, with her ipad in her lap, checking emails. Suddenly, her phone vibrated.
She had tossed it onto the bed ten minutes ago, and now it was lost somewhere among the sheets and the pile of pillows she had. She rummaged around looking for the phone, but couldn't find it, that was until her foot got tangled in the sheets, causing her to tumble to the floor. That's when she saw her phone, on the edge of the bed, covered by a pillow.
Without bothering to get up from the floor, she grabbed the phone and smiled when she saw the notification: a message from you.
“Aww, I seriously thought she would give it to you.”
Would it be too intense if she responded immediately?
Leah decided to go for it. “My mother is not that kind of mother,” she typed and sent the message, then relaxed as she saw you had immediately read it. The bubble with three dots appeared instantly, confirming you wanted to keep the conversation going.
"Ah, my mother is similar. I understand," you replied.
Leah was taken by surprise when the next message popped up.
“What are you doing at this hour?”
She realized she was still sprawled on the floor of her room. She got up, climbed back into bed, and opened the first streaming app she saw on her ipad, choosing an old movie she had been trying to watch for days. She took a picture, making sure to show only the ipad and part of the bed, then sent it to you.
“Watching something.”
Leah shook her head, feeling like a teenager sending things like that. It reminded her of what she used to do years ago. But she wanted to sound interesting to you. What would you think of her if you knew she was actually just checking emails and watching old football matches, trying to figure out if she could play like she used to?
"What about you? I don't even know what time zone you're in."
“I’m in Italy, just an hour difference :)”
“Italy?”
"Resting. Back to my workouts tomorrow."
"Oh, right. What’s next for you now? Berlin?"
This time Leah was surprised to see that your response was not a text, but a voice message. She hesitated before playing it, then hit the button and heard your voice.
“Wow look at you, you really are a fan,” you said in a teasing tone. Leah blushed immediately. She couldn't send you a voice message because she was sure she would get too nervous. Leah Williamson, the same woman who had spoken at the UN months ago, now felt like a schoolgirl with a crush.
She took a deep breath and replied:
“Of course I am. I’ve watched almost all your matches since Wimbledon last year. I told you I was your fan when I met you. My mother made sure to emphasize that too.”
“I just thought it was to flatter me if I'm being honest... Not that I'm that self-centered, but it wouldn't be the first time it's happened.”
Leah could tell you were walking during the last voice message; there was background noise. You obviously weren't in a room.
“Where are you at this hour?”
The next thing Leah received was a photo of a couple of tennis courts. From the angle and the small table with a glass of water, she deduced that you were sitting a few feet away from the courts.
“I thought you were training from tomorrow?”
"On grass. The grass court season starts soon. Now I was just playing with my racket.” You explained in the message. Leah didn't have a chance to respond before receiving another voice message from you. "But it's getting late now, and I need to rest up for tomorrow's training session. Say hi to your mom for me please."
"Of course, have a good rest," Leah replied, understanding the importance of proper rest for training sessions, especially during the season.
Days had flown by since that chat, and Leah was getting antsy. She was really hoping you'd reach out first this time, just to ease her mind that she wasn't bothering you. But as she sat at Alex's place, enjoying a glass of wine over dinner before going out, she couldn't help but feel a bit silly constantly checking her phone for a message that never came.
As far as Leah knew you had already arrived in Berlin for the upcoming Open, not because you told her, but because she'd seen some snapshots of you during training sessions thanks to some tennis websites she followed.
Leah didn't know it, but your mind was fully consumed by the upcoming tournament with Wimbledon just around the corner. It was the topic of discussion throughout your entire day: grass, Berlin, Wimbledon, Leah no, wait, focus on that WTA ranking.
"Ready?" Lucas, your coach, asked, checking his watch. It was the last day before the tournament started.
"Huh?" You looked up, putting your phone down.
Lucas gave you a concerned look. "You okay? You've seemed kinda spaced out for a few days now."
You shook your head, trying to brush it off. "Yeah, yeah, I'm good."
"Is something up? You look kinda off," Lucas took a seat next to you, his concern evident in his expression. “You're not hiding some injury from me?"
"It's nothing. I'm fine, just tired” you lied, standing up and glancing at your phone once more. Lucas caught your glance.
"Don't tell me there's a girl," he said, rubbing his temples.
"What?! No! Of course not!"
"God, I knew it. It's that Italian girl, isn't it? I saw you chatting with her at the hotel."
"That was a waitress, Lucas. I'm serious, there's no one," you said, grabbing your bag from the floor. "I've got my priorities straight."
"Good. What you have to worry about now is Berlin. Remember, Wimbledon's around the corner" said Lucas, standing up and grabbing his bag. "If you want, after that tournament, you can sleep with whoever you want, Italian or not. But for now, you must keep your eyes on the grass. Okay?"
"Okay"
The next morning, as you sat down for breakfast, Leah's face caught your eye while scrolling through your Instagram feed. She had posted some photos, seemingly from a night out.
It struck you how you hadn't come across Leah until the Roland Garros final; she seemed like an incredible person. You had even done a quick Google search when you first started following her on Instagram, impressed by her contributions to her sport back home.
It wasn't your fault that your family never showed much interest in football, so it wasn't surprising that you couldn't recognize any of the people beside Leah in those pictures. In the final photo, Leah was wearing a top that exposed her abdomen, wow, with a hand from someone you didn't recognize resting on her waist.
“Hmm?” You quickly tapped on the tag on the other woman's body. Her Instagram profile revealed that she was a football player too. Leah was in many of her photos, often seen next to her or hugging her.
“Hey, Y/N” Lucas intervened, taking the phone from your hand and turning off the screen. “I've been trying to get your attention for minutes, your match starts in an hour.”
You nodded your head. Lucas didn't seem to notice the tension in your jaw, you tended to be serious before matches, so it wasn't unusual.
As you warmed up on the court, your mind couldn't shake the thoughts about Leah.
"Who was that other woman?"
"It doesn't matter. Leah is just a fan, maybe a friend, not someone you're going to marry."
"Exactly. Whether she has a partner or not shouldn't affect anything."
"But I couldn't help but find her cute."
"She's undeniably beautiful."
"Focus on Wimbledon."
Despite the game starting, your mind continued its internal debate.
Your opponent secured the first game at 40-0. Now it was your turn to serve. Just as you tossed the ball into the air, a nagging thought intruded again.
“Does she have a girlfriend?”
The ball hit the net. An irritated sigh escaped your mouth, knowing you had to make this serve count, aiming to avoid a double fault.
Shaking off the distracting thought, you prepared for another attempt. Gazing ahead, you focused on your opponent's movements, determined to regain control of the match.
"Her mother played matchmaker when we met," you mumbled to yourself, the distraction causing you to miss the hit once more. This time, it sailed over the net but landed wide, giving your opponent an unexpected point.
Even your opponent seemed surprised by the unforced error you just made, giving her a point without any effort on her part.
"I need to find out who she is," you muttered under your breath, feeling the pressure with each lost point.
Your serve had enough power behind it this time, but your return lacked precision, sending the ball flying into the stands. As the ball sailed out, your opponent glanced at you in disbelief, clearly surprised by the unforced error you had just made.
"Wälti, that was her name," you murmured to yourself, the name lingering in your mind like a persistent echo.
With the score now at 40-15, your opponent was on the verge of breaking your serve.
You needed to get rid of the doubt, but you couldn't leave the game, you weren't that crazy. But you could do something else, win the game in record time. Focus on winning to satisfy your curiosity and anxiety. You adjusted the gold chain that hung around your neck and took a deep breath. You had to hurry.
The match ended 0-2, with you taking the sets at 2-6 and 1-6. Your best result on grass.
"Where'd that come from?" Lucas asked once you were alone. "Since when is your backhand so killer on grass?" he wondered. "I've never seen you pull off moves like that on grass."
"Just got inspired," you said, tossing your visor aside and slumping into the chair. "Can I have my phone now?" Lucas hadn't given it back to you yet, not as a punishment, but because you'd asked him to keep it.
Lucas handed it over, eyeing you. "You're keeping something from me," he noted, scratching his beard. "But if it's what's making you play like a champ, I'm all for it," he said, grinning.
You brushed off your coach's voice, fingers darting to your Instagram. With a few taps, you found Leah's chat, eager to shoot her a message.
"Heyyy! How was your night?" you typed, your leg bouncing with impatience. Though you needed to hit the shower, the excitement of hearing from Leah consumed you.
"Hope you're not feeling too rough today; starting the week hungover would be nasty," you added, fingers hovering over the screen in anticipation. But as the moments passed, there was still no response from Leah, leaving you hanging in suspense.
A cold shower seemed like the perfect remedy to clear your mind, and thankfully, it did the trick. Lucas egging you on for extra drills, especially to fine-tune your backhand, also helped to distract you.
By dinner, any hope of hearing back from Leah had evaporated. You were so disinterested that you didn't even bother bringing your phone along. It wasn't until nearly ten, when you reached for your phone to set the alarm, that you noticed Leah's message—a voice message.
"Hey, fancy hearing from you!" Leah's voice chimed in, carrying that distinctive lilt that hinted at a potential afternoon spent dozing off. You could practically imagine her, wrapped up in blankets, nursing a post-party hangover. "Yeah, went out with some friends. We were celebrating the end of my mate's long-distance thing. Was fun, until they started getting all soppy, reminding me I'm the last single one in the group."
A groan slipped out before she continued, "I may have had a bit too much to drink," she confessed with a sheepish chuckle.
Those messages had been sent around 4 pm, while you were deep into your training session.
The rest of the voice messages were sent after 7 pm.
"What the heck was up with your game today?!" came the first, followed by a chuckle "Just watched the highlights of your match. Seriously, what did that poor player do to deserve such a thrashing from you? She ain't an ex, is she?"
Then, a last voice message added, "Sorry if that sounded a bit too nosy. Just curious, you know?"
You chuckled, enjoying the sound of Leah's accent. It had this magical way of making you grin like an idiot, even when you were just staring at your phone screen.
But now, what really mattered was Leah's relationship status, she was single, confirmed without even having to pry. Knowing she was single now seemed like a game-changer. Suddenly, that whole thing with Wälti didn't matter anymore, Leah's path was crystal clear. Not that you were planning to make any moves to win her over; that was definitely not on your agenda, at least not for now.
“Remember, Wimbledon”
Oh… the other thing that hit you: Leah truly proved herself to be your fan. It blew your mind that someone recovering from a hangover would bother to watch highlights of your match just to chat about it later. She was the first person to do that, apart from your coach or family.
"Hey, I'm free tomorrow, at least from the matches. What do you think if I call you tomorrow?" you typed, feeling a rush of anticipation mingled with nerves as you crawled into bed.
Before closing your eyes, you couldn't resist checking your phone one last time. And there it was, Leah's response: "Sure, call me anytime tomorrow. I'll be waiting for you."
With a grin stretching across your face, you drifted into the most peaceful sleep you've had in ages, feeling a sense of warmth and excitement settling deep within you.

Ridiculous - Woozi
fluff - wc, 1017 idol!woozi x gn!reader NOT PROOFREAD
"Jihoon-a~" you call out in a sickeningly sweet voice as you drape yourself unceremoniously across the white couch in the studio.
Woozi scoffs at the nickname and tone before turning around in his chair to look at you, hands stilling but remaining on the keyboard. "Yes?"
"I just have a question...BUT I need you to entertain it! Don't just tell me I'm being ridiculous or something."
"Depends on what-"
"Jihoon."
"Okay okay, fine" he drags out the word in exasperation but his smile tells you a different story. His ears are all yours and a smile spreads across his face, ready to "entertain" whatever you want.
His eyes follow you as you traipse slowly around the room, avoiding his tracking gaze. "Hoon, why don't you ever write any songs about me?", you fiddle with the hem of your shirt not daring to look up at him as you finish your query.
His face scrunches up in bewilderment that YOU would even "entertain" this thought. You look up due to the initial silence and can't help but giggle. Woozi gets up and goes through what might've been the 5 stages of grief, getting ready to say something in retaliation with his hands raised in the air but biting his tongue. If Bumzu walked in right now it might've looked like an argument honestly.
Finally, after minutes of Jihoon daring to let something spill, he calms himself with a deep breath and returns to his computer chair resting his hands behind his head. He's trying his best to keep composure but he can't help but scoff at the mere thought of what you just said, a smirk evident on his face.
"What do you mean y/n?" he postures a very fake smile on himself.
"Stop it~" you whine as you curl up on the couch, looking towards him with puppy-dog eyes.
"No, I'm genuinely asking, what do you mean?" his attitude quickly changes from baffled to curious.
"I know what you're thinking Jihoon! You think it's-"
"-Ridiculous? Well, yes!"
"I told you to entertain me in my thought!"
"And I am, I just want to know what you mean, babe." he's up again and making his way towards you. Arms wrapping around you in your balled-up state.
You look at him with these eyes that just make him completely melt. "You've just never dedicated a song to me...not that you have to! Especially, not publicly. But I don't know...it was just a passing question I had."
Grabbing you by the shoulders to look at him, he takes a deep breath, choosing his next words carefully.
"Y/n, there is no other way to say this...but all my songs are for you." you think he's mocking you, head immediately slumping and eyes rolling before he's shaking you back to reality; Forcing you to look at him again.
"I mean it! And now I might sound ridiculous in saying this but every single song that even mentions love has been for you. And yeah, maybe I didn't know you when initially writing all those songs but that doesn't matter. I've loved you since before I even knew you and my songs are a testament to that." the forwardness comes as a surprise and you're about to tell him that he doesn't need to continue but he goes on, his voice full of a confidence you can't stop.
"Seriously, it's all for you. It always has been. The moment I met you it was decided, y/n. And I know that I don't express it often but it's true and I need you to know that you mean as much to me as all the songs I've written." he's starting to get aggravated over the subject now, getting up and making large gestures with his arms.
"If you ever have any doubts, ESPECIALLY OVER SONGS, tell me! Because, oh-ho-boy, I would write like a million to show you just-"
"Jihoon..."
"-how much you mean to me. Love literally overflows from me because of you-"
"Ji."
"-you could run me over with a car and I would still have several songs to write about how you looked in the driver's seat-"
"Jihoon!" it's your turn to look at him with bewilderment. He stares at you, ready to continue his rant and rather upset that you wouldn't let him continue. "I think I get it hoon-a." a coy smile comes from you from all the compliments (?). He's shaking his head as his arms open up to embrace you once again.
"Please, y/n, never ever question my dedication to you. Makes me feel like a bad boyfriend or something..." you can feel the pout in his tone and although he doesn't often initiate kisses he leaves a chaste peck on the corner of your lips.
"Oh no Jihoon, I never thought you were a bad boyfriend!" You cup his face in your palms. "It was just a question-"
"I know but still!" you just have to chuckle at the fact that he's still a bit upset over it. "It never even crossed my mind that you would feel some type of way over that stuff." he's burying himself in your neck now; Instinctually you're patting his head.
"Hey, it's okay, hoon! You've explained to me, in all but too much detail, how it's all for me~" you tease.
His expression drops to deadpan within a second and he's retreating back to his computer. You catch him by the sleeve and pull him back into another hug while laughing loudly.
He sighs into you, allowing whatever took over him to wash off as your laughter reminds him that this isn't an argument.
"Y'know I can dedicate-"
"It's okay baby, it's fine." you reassure him.
Weeks go by and every now and again, whenever you're in the studio, Woozi lets you listen to some of the stuff he's working on. You don't notice it but he makes an effort to tell you that he thought of you while making some of them. His little acts of devotion and dedication to you.

{A/N: A little something to tide over until Saturday and I thought it was well past time to write something about my ult-bias. It was tougher than I expected ngl. Been a carat for, what, like 8 years now and I've stuck by Uji's side the entire ride. Crazy to see the growth tbh. He's so expressive and I don't think my man gets the credit he deserves when it comes to being a talkative member. Bro's always up in the mix. Anyway, please like, reblog, and comment if you enjoyed!! It encourages me so much tbh. Love ya!}

Okay, first of all, sorry for my bad English, but could you maybe write a story with Kalus where you are all together (his siblings and Elena, Damon, Stefan etc.) in a room and spend time together, or rather solve another problem. Klaus notices how absent you are and how quiet you are the whole time. And later you disappear to a quiet place where you can be alone but then he shows up? The story need to be sweet😪
Description: gets overwhelmed and needs some time to relax
Warnings: she/her pronouns, fluff, swearing
*Requests are open, please send through as many requests as you want, check my character list and requesting rules.*
Thank you for requesting this! I hope you enjoy it!

First Person's pov
Everyone was here. Bonnie, Elena, Damon, Enzo, Stefan, Elijah, Rebekah, Caroline and Niklaus. My house was normally the meeting place, today was no different. I couldn't tell you what the issue was this time, I've been out of it for the past week. It's been hard, at the start of the week, I nearly got badly hurt while the next big-bad came along and after Stefan saved my butt, I got reprimanded by him for being so reckless and stupid.
I hated being yelled at or being near someone being yelled at. Ever since I was little, I've hated loud noises, so that incident at the start of the week just became a series of things building on top of each other. It was late, I was already overwhelmed and overstimulated, everyone was shouting at each other, demanding they be heard and that they were right.
"Dammit Damon! You cannot just expect us all to run around your agenda!"
"What else can we do?" Damon roared, I stared at my hands in my lap, fiddling with the skirt of my dress. I could feel Niklaus' eyes on me, they have been for the last little while, I have no clue what he was thinking or what he wanted but having him look at me, analysing me and my every move.
"Love, are you alright?" Niklaus softly murmured, I simply hummed in response, not meeting his eye or the disapproving hum that came from his lips. Everyone kept yelling, hitting my furniture in frustration, I could feel the tears bubbling and the prickling in my throat, If I didn't get away now then I'd breakdown in front of everyone.
While everyone was gathering around the table, writing out a plan for stopping this big bad, I slipped away and sat in my bedroom. I let out a shaky breath, letting the tears slip from my eyes and sobbed into my hands. I curled into my mattress, clutching my teddy bear to my chest and hoping all the chatter in my brain would fade away.
"So, this is the great Y/n L/n's bedroom." I sat up, rubbing my eyes, watching as Niklaus sat on the edge of my bed and turned to face me. I took a deep breath, pushing myself up and rested my teddy bear in my lap, watching him as he gazed around my room before his eyes landing me again.
"I am going to ask again... love. Are you alright?" His voice was smooth, gentle and even caring. On any normal day I could listen to him talk for hours on end, he had such a pretty voice.
"No... no, I'm not alright."
"Tell me what's wrong, love." It was a gentle demand, something I wouldn't fight against.
"I've just been feeling very overwhelmed and overstimulated. Got too much." Niklaus simply nodded, took my hand into his and rubbed his thumb over my knuckles. Niklaus hummed, his face scrunching up in thought before it relaxed and his eyes gazed upon me soothingly.
"I will kick them out from your home. They can take this to the Salvatore manor."
"Thank you." He nodded and looked at my teddy bear.
"What is this lovely thing's name?" I was grateful for the distraction, clutching to the arms of the bear a little tighter and smiled.
"Her name is Pebbles. I got her when I was a baby. I know it's silly... not being a kid anymore and having a teddy bear still." Niklaus shrugged, seemingly not bothered by this.
"Does it bring you comfort?" I nodded.
"Then why should it matter?"
"I suppose you are right, Niklaus." He chuckled once I said his name, I raised an eyebrow, trying to keep my own smile at bay from his sweet laughter.
"You always call me Niklaus. I don't think I have ever heard you call me Klaus."
"I like calling you Niklaus. It sounds nice, it just rolls off the tongue." He chuckled nodding, turning his body to face me better. I took another breath, finding the uneasy feeling fading away the longer I sat in Niklaus' presence. It was quiet up here, I could just here the others and every time I would react to the group becoming more vocal, Niklaus would bring my attention back to him by asking about something in my room.
My cat walked into the room, jumping onto Niklaus' lap, curling into him and hitting his hands with her paw to get him to pet her.
"She's a sweet thing, I'm sorry, I'll call her off."
"It's okay, I do not mind, your cat and you are quite welcome to my lovely presence and comfort whenever." I chuckled at the light sound of arrogance in his voice. He continued petting my cat for a little while until she jumped off and he took that as his moment to stand up and held out his hand.
"Y/n, I think you need some time away from these headaches. Do you trust me?" I nodded, I really did, not once had Niklaus used me for his gain, he hadn't betrayed my trust once and I don't believe he ever would.
"Yeah, okay." He picked me up, then sped out my window. Niklaus took me to a look-out in a couple towns over, it overlooked the water and no one else was nearby. The water brushed up against the rocks, soothing and peaceful. Within a blink he disappeared and within another he had a cup full of f/ice/c.
"Thank you. Y-you didn't need to do this." "You are feeling down, a sweet treat can always help. As I am told." I took small spoonfuls of the ice cream and started swaying to the gentleness of the violin.
"You know my favourite ice cream, my favourite instrument and my favourite song. How?"
"I have my ways, love." He whispers, letting me bask in the peace of the music.

To the New Year
Steven Grant x female reader
Summary: You have a crush on a certain Brit. Though, you haven’t worked up the courage to tell him how you feel. Will you be able to tell him how you feel before the year ends? Or will that certain Brit beat you to the punch?
A/N: If it wasn’t clear before, none of these stories necessarily take place in London. Though if you prefer it to take place there, that is completely fine. Now sit back and enjoy another one of my Steven Grant fics.
You and Steven are neighbors that have lived across from each other for a year now. In that time, the two of you have become extremely close from having dinner together to simply sharing book recommendations with each other. Despite the two of you having a huge crush on each other, neither have taken the steps to moving your relationship forward from friendship to more. Both fear that the other would reject them. Therefore, here you are on the morning of New Year’s Eve getting ready for a night alone when you hear a knock at the door.
Steven, adorned in his cozy sweater, his messy dark curls framing his warm features, knocked on the neighbor's door, a shy smile playing on his lips. He held a small bundle of flowers in his hands, the stems wrapped in a bit of tissue paper. He'd been wanting to talk to you for a while, but fear had held him back. However, it was New Year's Eve, and he was determined to finally make a move.
"Hey, neighbor. I hope I'm not interrupting anything," he said, his voice carrying a hint of nervousness.
You smile. “Not at all. Though I’m surprised you aren't still at work today, Steven.”
Steven chuckled, shifting the bundled-up flowers in his arms. He glanced up, his cheeks tinging a soft shade of pink.
"Well, I asked my boss for a day off since it's New Year's Eve. Thought maybe I could spend some time with you, especially since...", he paused, searching for the right words, his heart beating just a bit faster in his chest.
You heart twinged at the word “friend” for you know that is all you will be to the handsome, kind, Brit you’ve come to know and love.
You take the flowers from him and smell them. “These are beautiful, thank you. Though what’s the occasion?”
Steven watched as you took the flowers, his gaze fixed on your face. He noticed the brief flicker of disappointment in your eyes at the word "friend," and it only served to further confirm his suspicions. Nevertheless, he pressed on, deciding that tonight was the night he would finally express how he truly felt.
"No occasion, really," he said, leaning against the doorframe. "Just... wanted to do something nice for a friend."
The word "friend" hung in the air, and Steven's heart thumped in his chest.
You let him in as you begin putting flowers in a vase. You find some scissors to cut the stems to help fit the flowers. “What did you have in mind?”
Steven stepped inside, his gaze following you as you busily arranged the flowers. He leaned against the countertop, watching you with a mixture of nervousness and expectancy. He took a deep breath before answering your question.
"Well, I was thinking maybe we could just... hang out. You know, chat, watch some movies or something. I'm open to suggestions."
He fiddled with the sleeves of his sweater, his heart still pounding in his chest. He was hoping this would be the perfect opportunity to tell you how he felt.
“That sounds fun! We could order take out to that restaurant you introduced me to.”
Not only did you choose this restaurant to accommodate Steven's food needs as a vegan but you also found yourself liking some of the options that were offered.
Steven's face lit up at the mention of the vegan restaurant he'd introduced you to. He knew that it wasn't your usual kind of place, and the fact that you were willing to go there made his heart skip a beat. His lips curled into a soft smile.
"Yeah, that sounds perfect," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of relief. "I can call in the order if you'd like. Then we can just relax and chat for a bit before the food arrives."
“Perfect! Can you please order me that plate that you ordered the last time we ate there? I can’t remember the name but it was so delicious and actually filling.”
Steven chuckled softly, a warm smile playing on his lips. He was glad that you enjoyed the food he introduced you to.
"Of course, I remember the dish you're talking about. It's called the 'Vegan Buddha Bowl.' I'll make sure to add it to the order."
As Steven reached for his phone to make the call, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. This evening was shaping up to be even more perfect than he had imagined. He wanted to enjoy every moment with you before finally confessing his true feelings.
_________________________________________
A few hours later….
The sun had dipped below the horizon, casting the room in a soft golden glow. Soft music played in the background, the sound of laughter occasionally filling the air. The food from the restaurant had long been consumed, the empty dishes sitting on the coffee table. Steven and you were comfortably nestled on the sofa, engaged in a lively conversation.
Steven leaned back against the cushions, a content smile playing on his lips. He felt relaxed, yet his heart still fluttered nervously. He knew he had to seize this moment to tell you how he truly felt about you.
“Oh, Steven... Tonight’s been a wonderful New Year’s Eve. I’m so happy to have spent it with you.”
Steven's smile widened at your words, his heart swelling with warmth. He nodded in agreement, his gaze intently fixed on you.
"Me too. Spending the whole day with you has been the best way to end the year."
His eyes searched your face, his heartbeat quickening. The moment was perfect, and he took a deep breath to steady himself. It was now or never. It was time to tell you the truth.
You smile at him. “To think, in an hour we’ll be into a new year. Anything you’re hoping for this coming year?”
Steven's mind was still racing, his heart pounding. But he managed a small smile as he focused on your question. He leaned slightly closer to you, his eyes locking with yours.
"Actually, there is something I've been hoping for. Something that I've wanted for a while now."
His voice was slightly hoarse, filled with both excitement and nerves. The air around them seemed to crackle with anticipation as he carefully chose his next words.
“Oh, Steven…”. You take his hand into your own. “I’m sure whatever it is, you’ll get it because you’re such an amazing man. One of the best I know.
Steven's cheeks flushed at your words, his heart nearly bursting in his chest. Your touch sent a shiver down his spine, and he held your hand gently on his own. He swallowed nervously, his gaze locked with yours.
"Thank you," he said, his voice a mere whisper. "But... I don't know if you're right. You see, the thing I've been hoping for... It involves you."
He took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he was about to say.
You look at him curiously. “What do you mean, Steven?”
Steven's heart thumped louder in his chest as he met your gaze head-on. He took a moment to gather his thoughts, his hand still holding yours, his thumb gently rubbing slow soothing circles into your skin.
He took a shaky breath, his voice soft but filled with sincerity.
"I... I've been wanting to tell you this for a while now. And I think tonight is the perfect time. You see, I... I have feelings for you. It's more than friendship."
“Oh… it’s not hate, is it?”, you ask insecurely.
Steven's eyes widened in surprise at your question. "Hate?"
He shifted closer to you on the sofa, now holding both your hands in his and shaking his head quickly, his expression filled with disbelief.
"No! No, not at all. I could never hate you. I actually... I love you."
The words came out in a rush, filled with nervous anticipation as he waited for your reaction. His heart was pounding so loudly, he was almost sure you could hear it.
You look at him in wonder, trying to hold back the smile that wants to break across your face. “Steven, can you repeat that again?”
Steven swallowed, his mind racing, heart pounding. He tightened his grip on your hands, his eyes fixed intently on yours.
"I love you," he repeated firmly, his voice only a bit shaky. "I'm in love with you. I've been wanting to tell you for a while now, but I was afraid... afraid that you might not feel the same."
He held his breath, nervously awaiting your response.
You bring him in for a hug. “Oh Steven, I’m so happy you feel the same. For I too was afraid you wouldn’t share the love I have for you.”
A wave of relief washed over Steven as he sank into your embrace. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close as his heart swelled with love. He couldn't believe that you felt the same, and the knowledge that you had been struggling with the same fears only made his heart feel even more full.
"You...you love me too?" he asked, his voice a mix of disbelief and hope.
“How could I not be in love with you, Steven Grant? You’re intelligent, kind, and handsome.”
Steven's heart nearly leapt out of his chest at your words. He still couldn't believe this was actually happening. He held you tighter, feeling a surge of happiness and love. He leaned his forehead against yours, his breath a bit shaky.
"You...you think I'm handsome?" he asked, a hint of disbelief in his voice, though a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
You giggled. “That’s what you got out of what I just said to you?”
Steven chuckled sheepishly, his cheeks slightly flushed. He pulled back slightly, his eyes still fixated on yours. He felt a bit embarrassed that he had focused on such a trivial part of your statement.
"Well, I... I suppose the other things are more important," he said, a soft smile on his lips. "But the fact that one of the most beautiful, smartest, and kindest people I know thinks I'm handsome... It's just..."
He trailed off, a small sigh escaping his lips as he gazed at you affectionately.
You touch his face sweetly. “It’s a minute until midnight, got anything you want to do?”
Steven's eyes fluttered closed as you touched his face. The feel of your fingertips sent a shiver down his spine, and he let out a soft sigh.
"As a matter of fact, I have one thing in mind that I want to do," he said, opening his eyes to meet your gaze.
He leaned in closer, his heart beating rapidly in his chest. The minutes were ticking away quickly to the new year, and there was only one thing he wanted to do in those last moments of the year they are currently in.
Steven's heart was pounding loudly in his chest as he drew closer to you. He let go of your hands, bringing his fingers up to gently brush a stray lock of hair behind your ear.
"Can I... can I kiss you?" he asked softly, his voice filled with a mix of hope and anticipation.
You nod, your lips meeting with his own.
Steven's mind went pleasantly blank as your lips met his. It was as if everything else faded away, leaving only the feel of your mouth against his.
The fireworks outside were nothing compared to the fireworks he felt within. His arms instinctively wrapped around you, pulling you closer as he deepened the kiss. Time seemed to stand still, the countdown from the outdoor revelers a faint background noise to the overwhelming connection he felt with you in that moment.
The moment you two finally pull away, you both look at one another with a loved up smile.
“Happy New Year’s, Steven.”
“Happy New Year’s, love.”
You both cuddle into each other as you two listen to the ambience of the fireworks that continue to ring outside.
Perfect start to the new year.

Galileo Galilei Main Story
Translations may not always capture the exact nuances or tone of the original text. Expect grammatical errors and inaccuracies.
Spoilers ahead. Not proofread. Rush translation.
Mitsuki: "I have so many things I want to ask you and talk about."
Through my blurring tears, his profile looked pale, and the hand I brushed against my cheek felt cold.
At that moment, as I fervently wished for his awakening, his fingertips moved slightly.
Mitsuki: "Galileo!!"
His eyelids slowly opened, revealing his amethyst eyes.
His gaze wandered for a while, then he tilted his head and looked at me.
Galileo: "You..."
Mitsuki: "You've regained consciousness! Thank goodness, I'm so glad."
Feelings that cannot be put into words well up from the depths of my chest, overflowing as tears.
His cold fingers brushed against my cheek, awkwardly wiping away my tears.
Later, after some time had passed,
Sailor: "Hey, Drake! You should be doing the new guy's job."
Drake: "Aye, aye, sir!"
Drake: "But first, let me finish this drink."
Sailor: "Hey, that's my wine!"
Drake laughed as he deftly avoided the sailor who tried to take back the bottle.
Drake: "Haha! Never let your guard down. There's nothing Captain Drake can't steal!"
Sailor: "Who said you're a captain? You're just named after some big shot in the English Navy."
Sailor: "By the way, are you from England?"
Drake: "No, I'm from France now."
The sailor tilted his head in confusion as Drake laughed softly and turned his gaze to the open sea.
The horizon stretched out endlessly, with no land in sight, but he thought of the place where his comrade and Mitsuki were.
Drake: "For someone like me who never had a place to call home, it's strange to think I now have a land to return to."
Drake: "Maybe after I sail around the world, I'll show my face there again."
With those words, Drake raised the wine bottle towards the sea.
One day, sometime after Galileo awoke, I visited the mansion.
Mitsuki: "Wow, this bread smells delicious! Thank you."
Sebastian: "I'm glad you like it."
The warmth of the freshly baked bread brought an involuntary smile to my face.
Though I still resided in the hideout, I would occasionally visit everyone.
Napoleon: "How's Galileo doing?"
Mitsuki: "His health seems to be improving a lot. He can even get up and go for walks now."
Even after narrowly escaping death, his body was still being ravaged by the founder's miasma.
But ever since he woke up, he's shown signs of a steady recovery.
Napoleon: "I see. I was worried, but I guess this is a miracle."
Mitsuki: "Yeah."
(It's a miracle Galileo himself created.)
(His strong will, even at the cost of his own life, must have led to this fate.)
I was just letting Napoleon and Sebastian know I'd drop by again when I heard some quick footsteps approaching.
Isaac: "Mitsuki, wait."
Mitsuki: "Isaac?"
Isaac came up to me, fiddling with his hair as he spoke.
Isaac: "I don't know what that guy plans to do next, and this is just my wish, but..."
Isaac: "Please tell Professor Maury we're waiting for his return."
Mitsuki: "----!"
Napoleon: "A school where Newton and Galileo teach? That would be a competition of wisdom."
Sebastian: "I feel like attending university myself."
Isaac: "Don't tease me. That's all I wanted to say. See you."
Mitsuki: "Thanks, Isaac! I'll be sure to let him know."
(I hope Galileo and everyone can build a new relationship.)
With such hopes, I couldn't help but feel excited.
I found myself lost in thought after leaving the mansion and walking down the main street.
(As Isaac said, what will we do now?)
What came to mind was the moment Galileo woke up.
------------Flashback-----------
Galileo: "Did I survive?"
Galileo: "Even though I was ravaged by the miasma and stabbed by Drake's knife?"
He gazed at his palm in wonder, as if he couldn't believe he was still alive.
Mitsuki: "Everyone at the mansion and the old castle did everything they could to help you."
Mitsuki: "And Comte said that perhaps it was because you were a dhampir that you were saved."
Both the miasma and the knife are dangerous for vampires, but Comte suggested that perhaps Galileo's human side helped save his life.
(Although the truth is unknown, as long as Galileo is alive, that's what matters.)
But...
Galileo: "After trying to destroy the world and being rejected by it, did I survive again?"
I took his hand in mine as he muttered self-deprecatingly.
Mitsuki: "Galileo, let me tell you again."
Mitsuki: "I love you."
Galileo: "........."
Mitsuki: "Even if the world rejects you, I will continue to seek you."
(I want to accept every part of you.)
Mitsuki: "I'm not asking you to respond to my feelings. I just want you to stay alive."
Galileo: ".........."
---------Flashback Ends--------
(He didn't say anything back then.)
I wanted to stay by his side and support him to make him happy.
(But what are Galileo's thoughts on the future?)
When I returned to the hideout, Galileo was by the window, gazing outside. He turned to face me as I entered.
Mitsuki: "I'm back. Look, Sebastian gave me some bread."
Galileo: "Mitsuki."
His rich, low voice called my name, and his eyes captured me.
Galileo: "I want to talk with you for a bit."
He led me to the garden.
The sunlight streaming down made the pure white flowers shine.
He knelt and gently caressed the petals of the red flowers.
Galileo: "Looking at this red flower brings back the sorrow of the dhampirs I've seen. Their pain still lingers in my mind."
Mitsuki: "Yeah."
Though I haven't dreamed of dhampirs recently, seeing the white flowers stained with the color of blood still hurts my heart.
Galileo: "I wanted to save them. I wanted to do something for the friends and family I lost."
Galileo: "In the end, that wish didn't come true."
Galileo: "I thought that if I ended this world entirely, all the sorrow would disappear."
Galileo: "Carrying everyone's regrets and achieving destruction had become my reason for living."
He spoke as if reflecting on his past, then turned his gaze towards me.
Galileo: "But some time after I woke up, I saw a certain scene."
(A certain scene?)
What Galileo mentioned was an interaction I had with Miguel a few days ago.
------------Flashback-----------
Miguel: "Big sis!"
On the day I was visiting Mireia's grave, I ran into Miguel.
He is currently living with a pureblood couple, thanks to Comte's arrangements.
Mitsuki: "Miguel, it's been a while. Huh?"
Puppy: "Woof, woof!"
I widened my eyes in surprise as I recognized the brown puppy he was with.
Mitsuki: "This puppy..."
Miguel: "I found him a little while ago. He was wandering alone in the city, and I couldn't just leave him."
Miguel: "I brought him today to meet Mireia. His fur is chestnut-colored, just like her hair."
This puppy was the same one Sidereus had protected and whose injuries I had treated.
When I told him this, his blue eyes also widened in surprise.
Miguel: "Really? That's amazing! Both this puppy and I were helped by everyone."
Mitsuki: "Yeah. It's like a miracle that such small events connect in this way. It feels like a fortunate coincidence."
(No, this might be what we call destiny.)
Even if what we can do at the moment seems trivial, it eventually leads to new happiness.
It would surely help heal suffering and sorrow little by little.
Mitsuki: "Miguel, if it's okay, could you take this?"
Miguel: "What is it? Wow, a bird made of paper."
Mitsuki: "It's an origami crane. I folded it, thinking of Mireia before coming to the grave. Normally, you would fold a thousand of them."
Mitsuki: "In my hometown, we fold them with wishes or to remember those who have passed. It can also be a symbol of peace."
I imbued it with a wish that no more sorrowful events would occur.
Miguel: "A symbol of peace."
He placed the origami crane with its wings spread on his palm and smiled gently.
Miguel: "Thank you, big sister. I'm sure Mireia will be happy, too."
Mitsuki: "I hope so."
---------Flashback Ends--------
(Galileo was there at that moment.)
Galileo: "Watching your interaction with the boy reminded me of my past conversations with my father."
Galileo: "As you said, the root of my desire was not destruction."
Galileo: "The hatred within me hasn't disappeared."
Galileo: "Humans and vampires alike are foolish, and the endless conflicts in this world will still fill me with indescribable anger. But..."
Galileo lifted his head and looked directly at me.
Galileo: "Will you stay by my side?"
(.......)
Galileo: "You're the reason I'm alive."
Galileo: "Even if anger and hatred drive me again, with you by my side, I will surely remember my dreams."
Galileo: "Only you can lead me to my true desires."
His touch was as cold as always, but his eyes were filled with warmth, like when he gazed at the stars.
(His eyes are seeking me.)
Galileo: "I know it's selfish of me to ask you this after hurting you, and I know that my hatred and regrets still remain in my heart. But still, you need to choose. Will you stay with me or let go of this hand?"
I could feel his sincerity and earnestness as he revealed his innermost feelings. I grasped his hand firmly.
Mitsuki: "The answer is clear."
Mitsuki: "I already said I would continue to seek you out."
Why are tears welling up in my eyes?
Receiving his feelings, I spoke with a voice trembling with joy.
Mitsuki: "Galileo, I love you."
Mitsuki: "Please let me stay by your side. No matter what happens, don't let go of this hand."
Galileo: "Mitsuki."
He stood up, his expression softening gently.
Galileo: "I love you, Mitsuki."
Galileo: "I won't let you go. My love for you is true."
As if to confirm our feelings, we gently kissed, surrounded by the beautifully sorrowful and ephemeral white flowers.
Mitsuki: "What are you going to do now?"
I asked while snuggling close to him on the bed.
He hesitated slightly before speaking.
Galileo: "I can only live by seeking the truth. I plan to return to being a university professor and pursue academic studies as I did before."
Galileo: "Also, Drake will return to this place."
Mitsuki: "You're right. Hehe, Isaac will be happy."
He softened his expression, but he let out a faint sigh.
Galileo: "But I might fall into despair again, and my heart could be trapped by distorted desires once more."
Mitsuki: "When that time comes, I will accept it. All your anger, hatred, and sorrow."
Galileo: "Mitsuki."
Galileo: "Thank you."
Galileo: "This time, I hope I can remember the true wish you made me realize."
Galileo: "I hope our journey from here can become a bridge between the human and vampire worlds."
Mitsuki: "I'm sure it will."
(You’re neither a heretic nor someone to be persecuted.)
(You’re simply a person who earnestly wishes for peace. That is who you really are.)
Suddenly, Galileo leaned his head on my shoulder.
His gesture felt like he was seeking comfort, and it made my heart race.
Galileo: "What about you? What will you do?"
Mitsuki: "What will I do?"
Galileo: "Yeah. I have no intention of letting you go, but..."
Galileo: "With the door, you can return to your original world—the country and time you were born and raised in."
(So there's a way for me to go back.)
Though I realized this when he mentioned it, my resolve didn't waver.
Mitsuki: "My place is already by your side."
Galileo: "........."
Mitsuki: "I can't imagine living in a world without you."
Mitsuki: "I'll be with you forever."
Galileo: "Forever, huh?"
Galileo: "It's like an eternal vow."
He placed his hand on my cheek and looked into my eyes.
As I was mesmerized by his happy smile, he gently stole a kiss.
Mitsuki: "Nn..."
He repeatedly showered me with kisses and touched the scar on my forehead.
Mitsuki: "Ah, that's right. There's something I've been wanting to ask you."
Galileo: "What is it?"
Mitsuki: "When did you realize I was the child you saved from the accident long ago?"
Galileo: "That? I realized it the day you had a fever."
Galileo: "The story you told me about your lifesaver and the scar on your forehead matched my memory."
With a nostalgic, gentle smile, he began to speak as if unraveling memories from long ago.
Galileo: "Among the friends, family, and dhampirs I couldn't save, you were the one I could finally rescue."
Galileo: "That was a small light for the powerless me."
Galileo: "Even though I lived in despair and was consumed by destruction, somewhere in my heart, that light remained."
Galileo: "Until it led me to this moment."
(The past connects to the present.)
Whether this encounter was a destined fate or a series of coincidences and choices we've made, I don't know.
(But now, you're alive before me.)
(This joy and this truth are everything.)
Once again, we leaned toward each other, sharing yet another kiss.
As he undid the buttons on my blouse, Galileo also loosened his collar.
The cold touch of his fingers gradually warmed, making my heart race.
Galileo: "Haaa, Mitsuki."
Mitsuki: "Nnn. It's strange to think that I would meet the person who saved me back then again like this."
Mitsuki: "Actually, you were my first love."
Galileo: "Your first love? Even though you had forgotten my face?"
Mitsuki: "Don't mention that, please."
He let out a small laugh and lifted me onto his lap.
Galileo: "Then, make sure you never forget what happens from now on."
Galileo: "Just as you sought me out, I will seek you."
His beautiful, amethyst eyes looked up at me, drawing me in.
(Beautiful.)
I wanted to keep looking at him forever. I wanted him to look at me forever.
Mitsuki: "Please seek me, Galileo. Let me take in everything about you."
(And let me wrap you in my love.)
Galileo: "I love you, Mitsuki."
Galileo: "Even if the world rejects me, your love will keep me alive."
Galileo: "Like the stars that revolve, this love is eternal."
Like the moon and the sun, which revolve and transcend time, we have met again.
Embracing all the sorrows and the newfound affection, I will always see the true you.

***
Javi’s house is almost exactly what you had expected it to be. It’s not too big, and not too small. The Spanish style home is tucked back behind some woods in the middle of a small plot of land, which is apparently owned by his father.
There’s a pasture on half of his property filled with cows, which he tends to in return for living in the house. It’s peaceful and cozy, reminding you of the man who lives in it.
It doesn’t take long for you and Javi to haul your things inside, placing your clothes in his room, and any extra belongings in a hall closet. Your stomach makes nervous flutters the entire time, keeping you giddy with happiness despite your current situation.
Within just a few hours, you’ve gotten engaged, and have moved out—well, been kicked out, but it sounds better the other way—of your house and into Javier’s. It seems like a dream come true when you really think about it.
You fiddle with the ring on your finger as you bite your lip to hide the smile that’s creeping across your face. It’s absolutely the most beautiful ring you’ve ever seen, and it fits you perfectly. How did he even figure that out?
It’s a simple ring, but intricate enough to hold anyone’s attention. The plain, gold band comes up to mold into a thorny vine design near the top, where it holds the perfect sized diamond. Not big or obnoxious enough to be gaudy, but keeping on the delicate side.
You also appreciate the way the vine design doesn’t continue all the way to the bottom, instead flattening out so that it doesn’t make you uncomfortable if it scratches or digs into your skin. It seems like Javi really thought this out, on top of knowing that he was going to marry you one day. Never have you experienced something so romantic in your life.
As you’re staring down at it, completely enamored with your thoughts, Javi comes up behind you. He admires the piece of jewelry over your shoulder, putting one hand carefully on the side of your head to pull you to him so he can place a kiss to the opposite side.
“It’s so pretty, Javi,” you tell him without taking your eyes off of it. You hadn’t gotten a good look at it until it was on your finger and Javi pulled back onto the road, and you’ve been in a trance since then. You lean into him, finally looking up to see him gazing adoringly back down at you.
“You deserve pretty things, pretty girl,” he says, wrapping you in a hug as you lean your head into his chest. He sighs and rests his chin on your head.
“I hope you know we’re not going to be able to have a big wedding at first, but I promise you that we will when the time is right. I want everything to be perfect for you, bebecita.”
You smile at that. You don’t mind that you can’t have a ceremony. You know that he will keep his promise, and you’ll get the fairytale wedding you’ve always dreamed of one day. He would do anything for you, he told you so.
HIs hand comes up to your chin, and you allow him to tilt your head up to capture your lips in a slow kiss. He slips his tongue between your lips, gently licking into your mouth in a way that makes your entire body light up with the sensuality of it.
Sparks jump in your belly, and you can feel wetness seeping into your panties. It’s almost embarrassing how quickly your body responds to his touch. You moan into his mouth and bring your arms up to circle his neck, leaning on your toes to deepen the kiss until it feels like you’re trying to consume each other.
Javi lets you push him backwards to the couch, keeping his mouth on yours and pulling you back with him as he takes a seat. Your thighs bracket his, and the position immediately reminds you of just last night, when the two of you had been in the back of his truck, you giving your body to him for the first time.
Is it weird that you already want him again?
You decide it’s not as you start to grind down on him, and Javi definitely agrees with that assessment by the way he groans into your mouth.
“Shit, baby, lay down for me. Gonna do this properly this time,” Javi pulls away from you to say, his lips still close enough to be brushing against yours.
You eagerly comply to his request, letting him place you down on your back across the seat of the couch. He takes his position above you, giving you a few more teasing kisses before he starts to trail down your body.
Your eyes widen as you realize what he’s doing, a gasp tumbling from your swollen lips as he sharply nips at your neck. His hands are slithering up your shirt, and you subconsciously arch your back to help him get it off you.
He grabs hold of the hem and raises it up until your stomach and your breasts are exposed, his mouth worshiping each inch of skin as it’s revealed to his greedy gaze.
“So pretty and soft for me, sweetheart.”
Javi’s lips are so close to your skin when he says it, that you can feel the moisture from his breath. You whine and wiggle, trying to get some friction somewhere. Your nipples are almost painfully hard against your bra, and you wish he would take it off.
“Please, Javi,” you beg, bucking your hips up while simultaneously trying to keep your hands planted on the couch. He didn’t give you explicit instruction to keep them there, but you see the game he’s playing, and you know he would if you moved them right now.
The look in his eyes can only be described as feral, fed by the carnal desire to have you above all. Seeing your struggle, he reaches his hands up again, and you lift up so he can undo your bra and then pull it off.
As soon as the article hits the ground, his hands are on you, fondling your breasts and thumbing over your erect nipples in a manner that makes you keen. You close your eyes as he moves up enough to seal his mouth over one of the buds, sucking and flicking his tongue harshly.
You moan his name wildly as he grasps you so that you’re unable to move, stuck with nothing to do other than take the assault on your sensitive flesh. You feel a heat stirring between your legs—which you didn’t know was even possible without direct stimulation—and when Javi lets one hand sneak down to rub tiny circles on your clit at the same time as he bites down on you, you’re coming undone in a matter of seconds.
You’re distracted enough by the blinding pleasure to be almost unaware of Javi pulling his mouth from your breast and snaking down even lower. His thumb stays on your clit as he spews bouts of encouragement your way.
It’s only when he removes his hand and pulls your pants and panties down that you open your eyes again to watch him scoop up your thighs, and dive into your cunt like a starved man. Your hands immediately fly to his messy hair, already damp from his efforts.
Javi moans into you as he tongues in and out, not wasting a second before going full force, alternating between your overstimulated clit and your weeping pussy. You’re getting light headed, your entire body heating up as he begins to pull another orgasm to the edge, just waiting for that one push. Just as you think he’s about to give it to you, he pulls away, breathing heavily as he looks up at you with hooded eyes.
“You have no idea how fucking good you taste, sweetheart,” he says, and you don’t know if you’ve ever heard him say anything with so much conviction.
Despite the crudeness of what the two of you are doing right now, you feel your face flush at his words. He licks a quick stripe up your seam before coming up again, and you almost come untouched at how much this look puts the last to shame. You’ve heard the term “pussy drunk”, but this might be your first time truly seeing it.
“Maybe I’ll fuck you with my cock and make you taste yourself on me after I make you come, would you like that, baby? See how god damn sweet you taste?”
Your jaw completely drops. You didn’t even know he could talk this dirty. You just keep getting luckier with this man. Your head nods frantically before you can even think about it. Javi chuckles lightly from between your thighs.
“Dirty fuckin’ girl,” is all he says before dipping down to continue feasting on you.
It only takes a couple of strokes for you to be coming on Javi’s tongue, though he moans and squirms enough for it to sound like he’s the one getting his second orgasm today. He only pulls away once you’re whining and tugging on his hair from the overstimulation.
For a moment, he looks like he’s going to get up and strip, but you see something flash across his eyes, and he just reaches down instead. Your head falls back as you hear the sound of his zipper going down, just the thought of him fucking you naked while he’s fully clothed makes your cunt pulse with need.
You look down, and your mouth goes dry when you see that he doesn’t have any underwear on. He keeps his eyes on yours even though they’re trained on where he’s pulling his thick, throbbing cock from the opening in his dark jeans.
Your eyes flicker back up to his as he lines himself up, wasting no time in pushing into you. Your jaw goes slack at the stretch as he leans over you completely, putting his palms on the couch on either side of your head as he sinks in all the way. Your own arms wrap beneath his to cling and claw at his back. Just by his body language and the hungry look he’s giving you, you have a feeling you’ll need something to hang on to.
Somehow, it feels even better than the first time. You feel stuffed to the brim, but also complete. Like Javi’s been your missing piece this whole time, and now that you’ve found him you feel whole. When you’re staring into his big, deep, brown eyes, you see nothing but adoration for you. Lust. Love.
And it’s in this exact moment that you know you’re in love with him.
Javi hisses as he rears back enough for just the tip to remain inside you, and he captures your lips in a feverish kiss as he thrusts back in, already nailing your g-spot. You gasp and he steals the air from your lungs. You can taste a hint of yourself mixed in with his saliva, and you had no idea until this moment that something like that could turn you on so much.
He quickly picks up the pace, and you find yourself too weak to do much more than whine and moan for him, much less continue kissing him. Javi brings one hand up to hold your chin and make out with you even though you can’t reciprocate. You don’t mind, the feeling of his tongue exploring your mouth is an orgasmic feeling in itself.
You just focus on breathing through your nose, keeping a hold of the man who’s sending you up the couch with his cock, and the feeling of his thick tip pummeling into your most sensitive spot. Your entire body is shaking with the intensity of the sheer force he’s slamming into you with.
There’s a strange but good feeling starting to tug at you someplace between your pussy and your abdomen, making your desperate sounds come out wobbly in addition to being smothered by your fiance’s mouth.
He makes a strangled noise and suddenly moves on to sucking the skin on your throat. You wonder if he can feel the way you’re tightening around him in anticipation as this new feeling grows and spreads.
“J-Javi,” you warn, unsure about what’s happening. You almost feel like you need to pee, but this sensation is far more intense.
He must not hear you, because his pace doesn’t falter and he doesn’t look up at you. He just keeps jackhammering his hips to yours and sucking hickeys on your already-sensitive skin.
It wouldn’t have mattered anyway, because you’re already feeling that coil snap, crying out as you tighten like a vice and gush all over Javi’s dick.
It’s unlike anything you’ve ever felt before, your body tensing as you ride out what has to be the longest orgasm you’ve ever had. You barely even hear Javi talking to you through your foggy mind. It’s like you’ve been transported to another place completely, a place where you can only feel pleasure.
“Such a good f-fucking girl, squirting all over my cock like that,” Javi praises as he nudges your chin up to make room for more sloppy kisses.
As you begin to come down, you can hear the steady slapslapslap that comes from where your bodies connect, each collision now aided by your juices and Javi’s heavy balls smacking against your swollen cunt.
It’s a disgusting sound in retrospect, but it turns you on even more when you hear your whines and Javi’s grunts blended into it. You can tell he’s starting to get close by the way he isn’t pulling out as much, and his noises are becoming more frantic.
“R-remember to p-pull out,” you breathe into his ear just in case he forgot. He, again, shows no sign of having heard you. You must be speaking even quieter than you thought.
“Javi, please pull out,” you say, louder this time even though it’s a task to do so through your exhaustion. This time, he hears you.
“Please, baby, it’ll be f-fine, gonna marry you, let me come in this pretty cunt,” he says, though you’re unsure of the correlation between those two things.
“No, Javi, it’s not safe.”
He’s pumping himself harder and faster, getting up to the edge.
“Buy you–fuck—buy you a plan B,” he grunts, his voice strained.
“No, n-not this time. C-can’t risk it,” you squeak, clawing at his back as he pushes you even further up the cushions.
You hear him mutter a curse as he pulls out just enough to grasp his dick and splatter rope after rope of cum on your damp stomach. You let out a breath when he finishes and lays back down on you, his cum spreading between your sweaty bodies.
You’re both breathing heavily, trying to come back down to earth. The ceiling fan above you is spinning slowly, pushing just enough air your way as you close your eyes and toy with Javi’s curls where his head is resting on your chest.
“I love you, Javi.”
You don’t know why you say it, well, you do, but you hadn’t known the words were even on your tongue or even on your mind. They just slipped out without a thought. Javi tenses against you, and you feel a ball of dread drop into your stomach.
Was it too soon? Does he not love you back? Are you being too clingy? Too immature?
When he looks up at you, your breath caught in your throat, there are tears in his eyes along with another emotion you can’t quite place. One corner of his lip twitches, like he’s resisting the urge to smile too hard.
“I love you too, sweetheart,” he says, obviously a little choked up.
You grin at him as he climbs up again to kiss you, this time soft and slow, with care.
“Going to take such good care of you,” he promises when he pulls away.

Behind the Vale Chapter 11
ISAT Spoilers below! Two-Hats Implied! CW: overeating/nausea
"So if you don't mind me asking… what… are you, exactly?" [Your new travelling companion asks while you fiddle with the terribly drab cloak tied around your neck. We simply must find a better outfit soon...]
"Oh you know... Just your average traveler who caught a shooting star, swallowed it whole~!" [The cadence of your voice does a fantastic job making it even more unbelievable than it sounds. We don't lie after all, it's not our fault everyone just assumes that~]
"... Riiight... So how'd you end up with Bonnie? And the rest of the saviors I assume? I don't remember hearing about any walking star travelling with them."
"I just ran into them one day... honestly it was pretty similar to how we met. A big nasty sadness was about to go after their fighter, so I just swooped in to save the day~. It was a lot more impressive back then since I didn't pass out after~." [You giggle to yourself a bit. Your story stops for a moment, before you realizing that Nille is still eagerly listening in... Stars, she wants more... how far are we going to let this go Vale?... You sigh before continuing]
"They all invited me to join them on their little quest to save the country... it didn't exactly work out by the end though..."
"... You don't have to talk about it if you don't wanna... Did anything happen between you and Bonnie though?..."
"No, no, nothing like that... I just... I wasn't strong enough to stick it out to the end is all~." [You almost choke out, struggling heavily to keep up your cheery demeanor. She notices it slipping, but drops the subject none the less.]
"Well I think the next town isn't too far away, I don't have a lot of coin on me but maybe I can do some odd jobs and we can get you some nicer clothes."
"Oh you don't have to do that, this cloak is fi-"
"Look, you might not have a mouth, but that look on your face wasn't that hard to pick up on." [She chuckles some as your expression drops to annoyance. A new outfit would be nice, though...]
"Fine, fine, if you insist~. I could use a real meal first thought, I can't remember the last time I've had real food, no offense."
"Hey, none taken, like I said before I ain't the chef of the family."
"Well let's hurry along then, I'm already starving again... how often are you supposed to eat again anyhow?" [Her only response is a heavy belly laugh... until realizing you were actually being serious.]
"Oh man, that star really did mess with yah, didn't it?"
"You don't know the half of it~!"
-----------------------------------------------------------
[The delicious scent of various kinds of foods floods your sense, you'd be drooling if it didn't evaporate away so quickly. You simply start digging in as you shovel bite after bite into your featureless face, confusing anyone who watches. You didn't care how many looks you got, you were starving and this was heaven~.]
"Hey now! Pace yourself Vale, don't wanna get yourself sick!" [Nille protested, trying to get you to slow down like the concerned older sister she was used to being. You took no heed of her caution, continuing to scarf down every last bite provided by the gracious food stands in town. Nille's valiant tale of proclaiming you as her savior earned up plenty of pity food, and you're far too hungry to protest.]
"I don't care, this is the first real food I've had in who knows how blinding long!" [You gargle out between bites, causing Nille to give a defeated facepalm and just watch annoyedly.]
[You finally finish your massive feast, while Nille enjoyed what were effectively your scraps. You sigh in delight and slump over onto the table, looking oh so satisfied.]
"Oh stars, I needed that... Any who, let's find some work, shall we~?" [You stand up quickly, before a wave of nausea rushes over you, painting across your pained face. You topple over and grip your stomach with one hand, covering the featureless lower half of your face with the other. Nille just bursts out laughing.]
"Hahaha!! I told you so! You rest up and let your stomach settle, alright? I'll find some work to do, maybe you can join me later if you're up for it." [Yet again, you're stuck accepting the pity of others, just trying your best to lie still to avoid upchucking all that delicious food...]
"Rffff... a-alright..."
------------------------------------------------------------
[Once your stomach has finally settled, you blinding idiot, you join Nille in helping restore old and rusted tools around the town. They had weathered heavily due to the lack of care for months and months with the king's curse plaguing the land. Nille uses her trusty hammer and some Craft to forge thing's back into a sturdy shape, while you sharpen all the blades with a whetstone and simple Wish Craft ritual... It feels very wrong to be playing with this type of craft again, but this level of it feels fairly harmless...]
[The two of you make a decent haul of coin for your efforts, staying up in the inn for the night before you'd continue your new journey as travelling companions. You lie in your own bed across from Nille's, slowly closing your eyes to drift off to-]
"Hey Vale?..." [... or not...]
"Why yes Nille, how can I help you~?"
"... Do you think Bonnie's doin' okay? I don't know how long it's been since you've seen them but... I'm just worried about 'em."
"... They are doing wonderful. They're surrounded by loved ones and could not be more eager to see you again."
"You really think so?..."
"No, Nille, I know so~." [You respond with a wink, giving a tired stretch and yawn.]
"Now let's get some rest, I've got a big day of outfit planning tomorrow and need my beauty sleep~." [She chuckles some more in response, turning over to settle in for bed.]
"Thanks Vale... g'night."
"Good night, Nille~."

You were jolted out of your thoughts when you felt someone place a plate of food on the dining room table in front of you. You looked up to see Kevin beside you, briefly giving you a nod of acknowledgement before moving on to serve the others who sat around the table. You nodded your head in gratitude, pulling the plate closer to you and fiddling with the silverware already set on the table.
You had been getting lost in your head more often recently. Ever since the past started visiting you, disguised as nightmares, you started to sleep less - not wanting to be thrusted back into moments of your life you no longer wished to be a part of.
When Namjoon adopted you, you wished to leave everything behind, no longer to be tied down to your dark past.
Though who were you kidding? You could never run from the atrocities that you once committed.
The things you had done could never be excused, there was no redemption for you.
You tried to push the thoughts back but each time you tried, the voices came back stronger.
You know you don’t deserve this luxurious life. These people who show you nothing but kindness deserve a lot more than what you can give them.
You were broken out of your reverie when the sound of chatter and laughter reached your ear, cutting through the dark clouds that took place in your mind. Looking up, you watched as the masters conversed amongst themselves at the dinner table while being served.
You still remember the first day they had invited you to have food with them - which was the first day you were adopted - and how Taehyung had given his seat to you as there weren’t enough chairs for all eight of you to sit together, much to Yoongi’s chagrin.
You had offered to simply eat in the kitchen or even the floor if needed, though the horrified looks on everyone’s faces had made you realise that wasn’t an option. After that, they had bought a bigger dining table, one that would fit everyone.
Your eyes met Hoseok’s, who was sitting opposite to you with Yoongi and Jimin on either side of him. Namjoon sat at the head of the table and Taehyung and Jungkook sitting on either side of you, the other chair at the head of the table empty.
Hoseok gave you a smile before returning his attention to the conversation he was having with Yoongi.
Namjoon cleared his throat to grab everyone’s attention at the table. Shooting you a smile of his own when his eyes met yours before looking at the others too.
“So I was thinking,” he started. “None of us have properly introduced ourselves and what we do to Y/N here. Why don’t we do so right now?”
Your interest piqued at that, sitting up straight and focusing all your attention at Namjoon.
“I’ll go first,” he offered, never losing the gentle smile he always seemed to have when speaking to the inhabitants of the house. “I’m a lawyer, as I told you before. A criminal lawyer to be more specific.”
“I’m your typical businessman,” Jimin continued right after Namjoon without missing a beat as he gave you a cheeky smile.
You looked at Hoseok when he laughed, wanting to know the reason behind it.
“Don’t let him fool you, Y/N. He’s the CEO of HJ Enterprise, alongside me. He’s anything but a typical businessman, he can charm your whole company under his name if you’re not careful.”
Your eyes widened at that, making Hoseok laugh out louder while Jimin hit his shoulder playfully with a scoff.
“Owner of Ddaeng Bar,” Yoongi mumbled, looking bored as ever as he gave a small wave with his fingers.
Though you wouldn’t say Yoongi liked you now, he was more tolerant towards you. Rather than scoffing or leaving the place whenever you entered, he took to simply ignoring you unless needed otherwise. On a good day, he might even speak to you unprompted! Mostly to notify you about one of the other masters looking for you or such but a win was a win and you had no right to complain.
“He opened Ddaeng purely for getting free alcohol whenever he wants,” you heard Taehyung stage-whisper into your ear. You didn’t react like you once would at being startled, rather only stiffening before relaxing just as quickly.
You had gotten the closest to Taehyung, with him always trying to spend his free time with you or giving you compliments whenever he had the chance. You weren’t used to getting so much attention, so at first you used to fumble for words and try to leave the place with one excuse or another but Taehyung stayed persistent.
Whenever you would try to leave, he would follow you around like the puppies you used to see back in the adoption centre. If that wasn’t possible then you found Taehyung sulking around until you would speak to him again.
There was an instance where Jin had seen Taehyung sulking after you had once again ran away from him and he made a joke about how Taehyung seems to prefer your company more than theirs. You didn’t know why but watching the other masters - except Yoongi, who simply watched the scene unfold - join in with Jin’s joke made your face feel so warm. It was truly a peculiar feeling, the warmth that spread throughout your body.
It was especially confounding when Jimin made a comment about how he was jealous, to which Jungkook also agreed and you feared you were falling sick with the way your heartbeat spiked and face flushed even more.
Was this normal? You couldn't tell if you should have been more concerned or not.
Although you had to admit that even though you didn’t want to and it was in no way voluntary, you had started to trust Taehyung a little. He was slowly becoming someone you dared to say that you enjoyed the company of. Someone you felt like you could share what was on your mind without thinking too much about the protocols you would surely be breaking if you were back at the lab.
It scared you how much you were slowly starting to break all those trainings that were ingrained into you, never to be forgotten or broken.
Or so you thought but with all those protocols that were purely there to make sure you were but a mere robotic killing machine slipping away, you felt lost and stranded. Fight as you might, you couldn't help lowering your guard and disregard the dangers that may come with doing so the more you got to stay with your masters.
It was only a matter of time before they would leave you and you still took these risks. What were you becoming? This was not what you were created as.
Before you could drown farther into the abyss, you were brought back to present yet again as you heard a dismissive grunt escape Yoongi’s throat, once more settling your attention on the ongoing conversation.
“And what about it?” Yoongi grumbled, narrowing his eyes at Taehyung.
The younger laughed, raising his hands in mock surrender before he turned to you again, ignoring the question that was thrown his way.
“I’m a fashion designer,” he started, puffing his chest out in pride. “If you couldn’t tell yet by my immaculate taste in fashion.”
Jungkook from your other side snorted, making you turn to him next. “I’m sorry, does the Stitch onesie fall under this ‘immaculate fashion taste’ too?”
“Yes.”
Jungkook laughed louder at the offended look Taehyung shot him, grinning mischievously before giving you a wink. “I’m in the automotive industry, founder of JK Car Manufacturer. I’ll get you the best cars out there, ones that are fast enough to help you escape after robbing a bank.”
“Pretty sure that’s illegal” you stated, raising your eyebrows.
“I know,” he replied, the cheshire grin never leaving his face.
Namjoon cleared his throat, shooting Jungkook a look you weren’t able to quite decipher but it made the younger lean back into his chair and whistle innocently.
Did you miss something?

➽ 𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐒𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐇𝐄𝐑 (𝐈𝐈)
☁ Pairing: Dazai Osamu x gn!reader
☁ Category: Angst
☁ Synopsis: Every time he holds you closer, he can’t help but think of his previous love. You left the agency in order to move on and recover, leaving Dazai in pain.
☁ Note: A continuation of Part 1 of Glimpse of Her. Originally, I didn't plan on making a second part for this since I'm out of ideas, but some of you insisted, so here you go. This story sounds so much better in my head. ;// 08/16/2023
Part 1
Since then, a week has gone by without your presence at the agency. Others started to worry and tried contacting you. They knew what had happened and were utterly disappointed with Dazai. Of course, he received tons of smacking from Kunikida for being such an idiot.
Dazai sat at his desk, staring into the distance. He absentmindedly fiddled with the slack bandage covering his arm, almost ripping it out. Normally, he would replace them with new ones, but does that really matter right now? He couldn’t think of anything other than you circling his mind.
It was unusual, to say the least, for the Agency to be so quiet.
He signed softly and leaned his head on his desk. The pain, guilt, and regret have been weighing heavily on his mind. He despised himself for how he exploited you for his own pleasure; how he only loved you because you reminded him so much of her, yet despite everything he had done to you, you continued to love him dearly, and that made him feel extremely guilty.
What good would it do, he thought, to apologize when he knew it wouldn't repair the pain he had caused?
Honestly, even if he knows he's done something wrong, he's not the type to apologize, but to you? He's unbelievably tender, almost making Kunikida choke and die with the change of Dazai’s personality around you.
He thought about what might possibly happen if you hadn't accepted his feelings in the first place. Will you both be content with your lives as friends or just happy as companions?
He doesn’t know the answer to that.
He sighed and stood up, proceeding towards the exit. This is something he always does to clear his mind. He'll go somewhere where he can be alone and think without being interrupted by people.
He twisted the doorknob, ignoring Kunikida's exasperated yells. He proceeded through the corridors and down the stairs, ignoring everyone in the agency. He just wants to get out and be by himself right now. Most eager to find you. Yes, he's worried.
As he was ready to leave the building, he was stopped by Ranpo's plaintive voice from the President's room.
“EHH? WHAT? You’re leaving?! (Name), don’t leave me!” was all Dazai heard as he walked back almost immediately and stood in front of the president's office. He grasped the doorknob, hesitant to enter. Dazai knew you didn't want to see him, but it's been a week, so this would be an opportunity to talk to you.
He broke out in a cold sweat as the thought of you leaving passed through his head. This felt like a kick to the gut for Dazai. He doesn’t want you to leave. He’s already lost the people he cared for, and now you? His grip tightened, and a familiar feeling rose up in his chest. He knew he was the reason, yet he ashamedly admits he doesn’t want you to leave. Even if you don’t talk to him, seeing your presence safe in the agency is already enough for him.
But what did he expect? This is clearly the consequence of his foolish actions.
He stood there for a moment, debating whether he should go in or just wait for you to come out. He gritted his teeth as his breath became shallow. His heart was hammering against his ribs. Despite being able to control his heart rate, he couldn’t stop it. Dazai wasn’t familiar with the sensation, as it was the first time he had felt this way, and it left him feeling overwhelmed and out of character, almost making him cringe.
He snapped back to reality when he heard a familiar voice behind the door. "Don't worry, Ranpo-san, I'll still come by and bring you sweets," you muttered as you opened the door, unaware of the person behind it. You collided with something, or more specifically, someone's chest. You looked up to see who it was, making you suck in a breath. You took a step back and instantly adjusted your stance. You silently closed the door behind you while staring at the individual in awkward silence.
Why now?
You thought as you pursed your lips. You were helpless and simply stood there, staring at the man who had broken you. Thoughts of ignoring him and leaving as if you didn't know him crossed your mind, but something inside of you keeps you from doing so. Possibly anxious?
Breathing nervously, you were taken aback by his sudden embrace, causing you to halt in place and your eyes to widen. Dazai didn’t know what pushed him to do that, but he didn’t care; he just felt the need to hold you in his arms.
"(Name), you’re safe. I’ve missed you so much, my bella-"
"-please get off of me." You spoke as you firmly pushed him away. You could have sworn you saw the anguished expression he made, but you were too perplexed to even care about that. Right now, you just want to be eaten by the ground and be alone. Just seeing him makes your heart tighten.
"(Name), belladona, can we talk this out? Please talk to me," He said in a pleading tone, taking a step closer to you, but you were too hurt to even want to hear of any of his pathetic reasons. You didn't want to take a chance of getting hurt again, especially when he made it clear that he took advantage of your feelings.
Sweat began to gather on your forehead as you fought back tears that threatened to form in your eyes. You were at a loss for what to do in this uncomfortable situation. You didn't want to cry in his presence. You just want to be away from him and be alone.
When he didn't hear you respond, his heart tightened, a clear indication to him that you didn't want to talk to him. Normally he would pester the person and force them to speak to him, but this time was different. He knew you didn’t want to, so he had no choice but to let you go.
You muttered a low ‘excuse me’ as you walked past Dazai, leaving a pit inside of his stomach. You surpassed the impulse to cry as you exited the building. It's probably the last time you'll ever set foot on it. As much as Dazai wanted to hold your wrist to stop you, he just can’t bring himself to do it. But if he can, he will, even if it means screaming at him, just for you to stay.
His heart sank when you disappeared from his sight. The person he loved was leaving him again, and there was nothing he could do to stop it. Even if he wanted to, he just couldn’t. In that moment, everything seemed to slow down as he watched the person who had made him feel understood disappear from his life forever.
Ranpo knew it was coming as he walked out of the President's office, peering at the man's amber eyes with his emerald ones in disappointment.
"Honestly, did you love them? Or was it simply the way they treated and loved you that made you love them?" Ranpo inquired solemnly, already knowing the answer to his question. Despite Ranpo's childish demeanor, he becomes serious in circumstances like this if you’re involved. You were like a sister to Ranpo, and watching you leave the agency sent thousands of knives through his chest. He couldn't help but blame the brunette for your departure.
Dazai turned his gaze to where you had left. He did love you. He loves you with all his heart. But there were times that he'd see you as her, and he couldn’t help but miss her solace. But of course, that is no excuse for him to make you stay.
He didn’t immediately respond, but after a moment of silence, he replied, “With all my heart.”
“How can you say that? You broke their heart.”
He sighed deeply and said, “I know, and for that, I'm forever sorry. But I want you to know that I never meant to hurt them. I loved them more than anything in the world. I still do.”
‘Never meant? that’s bullshit.’ Ranpo thought to himself. Although Ranpo isn’t the type of person to curse, what Dazai said made him look at him in disbelief.
After a long pause, Dazai continued, “I know how much pain I caused them, and I don’t expect them to forgive me. But I want them to know that they’ll always have a place in my heart.”
If he hadn't messed up in the first place, surely your relationship would not have ended up this way.
But his actions were a choice, not a mistake, right?
Right.
Before turning around, Ranpo took a final look at the brunette and then closed his eyes.
“The hardest part of love isn’t falling in or out of it. It’s learning how to pick yourself up and move on.” and with that, Ranpo left the brunette dumbfounded.
As he stood there dumbfounded, a sudden realization slowly began to dawn on Dazai. He was coming to understand something he had never quite fully realized before. He blinked a few times as he breathed out a breath he was holding before starting to move again.
Maybe… Just maybe one day he'll find a glimpse of us.
Part 1
Bonus part: It's been 6 years since you last visited the agency, and you're now blissfully engaged to someone amazing. You haven't seen or heard from your former colleagues in a long time, so inviting them to your wedding would be a fantastic idea.
And what about Dazai? He hasn't changed since you left. Consider his distress when he receives your wedding invitation. To be honest, he deserves it. That was something he did to himself. But part of him is relieved that you've found happiness.
He was hesitant to attend your wedding, but Ranpo persuaded him to do so. (Lmao He wanted him to feel your anguish 6 years ago.)

"Can somebody tell me why you still plan on continuing this race when you're short on members?!" Principal Nick shouted, his voice echoing in the room. Dom, Jay, and June bowed their heads, unable to respond, feeling the weight of the principal's words. They were on the brink of panic, fearing their participation in the race might be canceled since Demitra was still missing.
Rossi was also present, arms crossed, leaning against the wall, observing the Hummingbird team. The principal had called this meeting upon hearing that Hummingbird still planned to compete despite their lack of members. Dom scratched the back of his neck, eyes downcast.
"We can't stop now, sir. We're so close to the championship," Dom said softly, silencing the room.
The principal massaged his temples. "You don't understand. How can you proceed when you're falling apart? My granddaughter is in England! Your friend Vinny has joined another crew. And now the League of Street requires a full member count. What are you going to do?" he said, clearly distressed. Rossi shook his head.
Mia hesitated before raising her hand. "Sir, actually, we don't have a problem with the number of members. We've found someone to temporarily replace Shelly," she said, her voice wavering. Nick stopped, glaring at them all.
"Then where is she? Where is this girl you're talking about?" he demanded. Jay clenched his fists.
"I'm sorry I'm late!"
Everyone turned toward the door. Relief washed over their faces. Aria clapped her hands in delight while Mia exhaled a sigh of relief. Jay stood frozen, staring at Demitra, who was now wearing their uniform—the Hummingbird jacket. June and Dom's faces lit up at the sight of their last hope to continue the race.
The principal's face turned pale when he saw Demitra panting at his office door. It was as if he had been doused with cold water. Rossi straightened up, recognizing Demitra's familiar face but unable to recall where he had seen her before.
"So what's up?" Demitra said, holding her wig.
"Her? She will replace my granddaughter?!" Principal Nick shouted dramatically. Dom jumped in surprise at the principal's outburst, even clutching his chest.
Demitra scratched the back of her neck, forcing a smile. "Hey, gramps. Long time no see."
"You—why the hell are you here in Korea, kid?!" the principal panicked, reaching for his phone to send a message to someone.
"Why are they suddenly speaking English?" Dom asked, cleaning his ear with his finger. Jay furrowed his brows, watching the principal's panicked expression. He looked like he had seen a ghost.
"You know each other?" Minu asked, glancing between Demitra and the principal. The principal ignored the question, continuing to speak to Demitra in English, leaving the others puzzled.
"Wow, so it's great then! The principal knows Demitra," June said, smiling at Jay, but stopped when he saw his friend staring at Demitra. "Hey, you okay?" he asked, but Jay just shook his head.
"It's a long story," Demitra said, irritation clear in her voice as she spoke to Nick. She turned to Mia. "Hey Mia, would you help me put on this wig? I don't know how to do this thing." She walked into the office and pulled Mia out.
"Do her parents know she's here?" the principal suddenly asked. Everyone exchanged glances, unsure of what to say. The principal's face was serious while Mr. Nam fiddled with his phone.
"She doesn't really talk about her family that much, sir," June forced a laugh. "Actually, she's really quiet when she's with us." There was a hint of regret in his voice, as if he felt guilty for not talking to Demitra more. He wondered if Demitra felt out of place with them.
"Even I wouldn't be happy if I were in her situation," Mr. Nam said, shaking his head in disappointment. "You made her replace Shelly temporarily, and what's your plan after that? Just discard her?"
He looked at the group sternly. "Do you have any idea who Demitra is or her background before letting her join your crew?" Mr. Nam gripped his phone tightly as he finally remembered where he had seen her before. He couldn't believe he was seeing the girl who was famous in England here in Korea.
Everyone in the room exchanged confused glances, unsure of how to respond. Minu cleared his throat, breaking the silence. "All we know is that she knows how to ride a bike," he said, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
The principal massaged his temple, clearly frustrated. "Of course, she does! She's been in the underground. She was called a princess for a reason," he said, his voice rising with each word. "Kids, do you have any idea what you've gotten yourselves into? She quit riding years ago!"
Jay's eyes widened as the principal's words sank in. The room seemed to go into slow motion as he processed the information. How could the girl he'd been teaching Korean have such a secret past? He tightened his jaw.
"What the hell is the underground?" Dom exclaimed.
"Sir... I'm sorry, but I think we're not quite catching up—" June began, but Mr. Nam cut him off.
"Underground is a place in England where illegal activities like gambling happen, including racing. The winner takes home money. Racing in underground became famous because of Demitra. Many skilled riders from different countries came to the underground just to race against her." Mr. Nam sighed as he showed them pictures of Demitra in mid-air on her bike. "She's one of the most dangerous bike riders, having won many races. Athletes tried to recruit her, but she refused every offer."
Yuna and Aria gasped, and surprise was written all over the boys' faces, especially Jay. He dropped his gaze to the floor. For all the time they spent with Demitra, they had learned nothing about her. She had been so quiet, and this was the secret she had been hiding? Dom dramatically clutched his head and turned away, disbelief still on his face.
"So it wasn't a coincidence that she knows so much about biking and teaches us? That's why she's so fast when we saw her at the skatepark!" Dom said, staring blankly.
"I can't believe it," June muttered.
"I knew something was weird about her," Yuna said.
"Are you saying, sir, that Demitra is better than Jay?" Aria's question made everyone stop. They all looked at Jay, who was staring at Mr. Nam, waiting for the answer. He wanted to hear it. He wanted to know if Demitra was truly better, even though he already knew the answer.
"Demitra's ability is that she can counter the skills of her opponents," the principal answered. "And she has beaten Owen once."
Everyone gasped at the revelation. Jay stood frozen, Demitra's words echoing in his mind: "I'm the one who taught him that." She had said it when teaching him the curve lean, referring to Owen. It was clear now—her abilities were far beyond what any of them had imagined. Jay clenched his fists, feeling a mix of shock and admiration.
"If she beat Owen from High Calvary... it means..." Minu looked at Jay. "She's stronger than all of us. Including Jay."
The room fell silent, the gravity of the situation sinking in. They couldn't deny that some of them had underestimated Demitra, not knowing the depth of her skills and the experiences she had gone through. The realization hit them hard, especially Jay, who now understood just how much he had to learn from her. His respect for her grew immensely.
Principal Nick sighed, glancing at the team. "You need to rethink your strategy. Demitra's presence can be a game-changer, but only if you work together and respect what she brings to the table."
Minu nodded, his earlier nervousness replaced with resolve. "We need to support her, and each other. This is our chance to make things right and win."
"Fuck, I'm so glad we didn't end up facing her as an opponent. We would've lost from the start!" Dom exclaimed.
"I still can't believe it. I have to admit I'm thankful Demitra is with us, but what if people start asking questions? What if they find out Demitra isn't Shelly?" June said nervously.
"We're not using her." Everyone turned to Jay, who finally spoke after everything. "We can win this without her help."
Dom frowned. "Wait, you said we need her help before. And now you want her to just be a display?"
"Yes," Jay replied, looking at Mr. Nam. Minu cleared his throat, deciding to clarify Jay's point.
"I think what Jay means is we can't risk our crew being exposed if people find out she's not Shelly. We also don't know why she quit biking, so we should keep her involvement low-key," he explained.
"You're right," Dom said, nodding. "Damn, you're all smart." while making a funny faces.
After they made their decision as a group, they bid their teacher and the principal goodbye. Jay's mind was still in a state of chaos; something about Demitra kept distracting him. He stopped by the window of the principal's office and leaned against it.
"Sir," Jay heard Mr. Nam call out to the principal, "It looks like you know her? She called you gramps."
The principal sighed, looking frustrated. "I did something terrible to her before. I don't even know if she has forgiven me yet," he said, massaging his temple. Jay looked out the window, both to eavesdrop and to watch the people talking inside.
"Isn't she Shelly's friend?" Mr. Nam crossed his arms.
The principal shook his head. "Not anymore. You know I liked Owen for my granddaughter, right? So I arranged a marriage for them to be together when they came of age. But Demitra found out about that and got mad." Nick stood up and held the picture frame of his granddaughter on the desk.
Rossi remained silent, waiting for the principal to continue, just as Jay did. His girlfriend was involved in this conversation, so he felt he had the right to listen to the principal's secrets.
"I didn't even know Demitra and Owen had a relationship!" the principal exclaimed, frustration evident in his voice. "Owen told me they had broken up, but the truth was he just wanted to be with my granddaughter. Demitra was betrayed by both him and me. She was almost like a granddaughter to me too, Rossi," he added, guilt heavy in his tone. Jay froze and his eyes widened, the connection between Demitra and Owen becoming clearer. They had a relationship before. Shaking his head, he walked away from the office.
"Damn it," he muttered.

charm 002. caramel frappuccino
― this chapter has written content.
next ― masterlist ― prev
unsure of what to do, you slip your phone into your back pocket and wait as kageyama comes up to you. he looks nervous, and you feel a little bad for the boy as you catch a glimpse of his friends huddled together in the corner of the shop.
“um…” kageyama begins, fiddling with his fingers. you hear one of his friends — the blonde one with the obnoxiously long order — giggle from behind his hand. a nervous smile creeps up your face, but you decide to bite.
“hey! kageyama, right? from elementary?” you stick out your hand, the reluctant smile on your face melting into a genuine one as you register the shock on kageyama’s face. his lips part for a moment before he gingerly nods in reply. he takes your hand, and you notice how it engulfs yours. it's warm, and a bit calloused — though you assume it's due to his years of playing volleyball.
“yeah, i didn’t think you’d remember.” he mumbles. a breathy laugh escapes you, and kageyama perks up at the sound.
“of course i would!” you exclaim. “weren’t we like, best friends back then? it would be pretty rude of me to forget one of my first and closest friends, y’know.”
kageyama quietly chuckles at that, but you probably wouldn't have even noticed it if it weren’t for the emptiness of the coffee shop today. you're internally grateful that it wasn't busy; you doubt that you'd be able to catch up with kageyama like this if it was.
fidgeting with the ends of your apron, you continue your conversation with him. it was nice to hear from him again, especially since the two of you hadn’t been able to keep in contact. there was a lot to catch up on, so you listened carefully to him.
kageyama told you about his volleyball career, and how he plans on playing in the professional league once he graduates college. you already knew he enjoyed playing volleyball, that had been made apparent to you from early on even as a child. now, though, you knew he had truly come to cherish the sport over the past six years. he still had the same child-like glint in his eyes when talking about the sport.
you spoke about your own activities during junior and high school as well, though you were afraid that you were boring kageyama with your lackluster stories. he assured you that you weren’t, even making an effort to ask questions after your half-serious statement.
that made it hard to deny the butterflies swarming in your stomach, but you would never admit that aloud.
unfortunately, your conversation ends when kuro walks over to inform kageyama that they’d be late to practice if they didn’t leave now. kageyama gives you a curt nod, apologizing, but you assure him that it's fine. you didn’t want to be the reason he was late to practice, so you wave him off with a smile.
“(name),” kageyama began, and the sound of your name makes you whip around from the coffee bar you’d turned to. “sorry, i was just wondering if i could get your number?” his phone is in hand, the screen facing you. his contact app is already open, the lines of numbers staring back at you.
“oh! yeah, yeah, that’s a good idea…” you replied, taking the device and typing in your number. “there we go. have a good day, kageyama!”
“thank you, (name).” he smiled, before returning to his group of friends. you watched as they leave the shop, cheering and slapping kageyama’s back once they exited the glass doors. he looked red, and the sight made you laugh.
“so…” hitoka began, coming up from behind you. you jump at her sudden presence, turning back to face her. there was a grin on her face, partly teasing and partly sincere.
“shut up, hitoka." you grumbled, "he looked scared when he first came up to me!”
“i didn't even say anything, (name)!” she whined, causing you to laugh. you continue wiping down the coffee machine as you await her next words.
“you know, i think you guys would be cute together.”
there it was.
“hitoka, we've been over this. i'm too busy with school and work as is, there's no way i'd be able to balance a relationship on top of that.” you shake your head, placing the cloth down on the counter. “aside from the fact that i don't need a boyfriend in the slightest, i just met kageyama."
hitoka shook her head in response. “yeah, you don't need one, but wouldn't it be good to at least start seeing people? it's been forever since your last boyfriend. and it doesn't have to be kageyama, but I'm just saying! isn't he at least a little cute?”
“he's okay, i guess,” you drawl. “but i still stand behind the fact that i don't need ― or want ― a boyfriend.”
“but you guys looked so cute together! it was like a shojo anime was playing right in front of me.” hitoka whined, draping her body over the counter.
“hitoka.”
“fine, but i still think a relationship would do you good!”
your only response was a sigh.
“whatever. let's just go home.”

∘ (name) genuinely lost 10 years off their life when atsumu came to order.
∘ atsumu's order came out last because (name) had to keep on re-checking the specifics of it. they refused to call the entire order out so they just said "caramel frappuccino?"
∘ tobio straight up ordered milk at the coffee shop. literally just asked for a cup of milk. thankfully hitoka was working the register, but when (name) read the order for a cup of milk, they were like ???. everyone else (minus atsumu) got something normal.
∘ tobio's group was whisper-shouting at him to go up to (name), but they were also typing in the gc simultaneously, so they looked like screenagers.
∘ ALSO hello hello hi!! thank you all sm for all the support for charm + my other works ♡ i really was not expecting to receive a lot of attention and was honestly just posting because i wanted to share my ideas with the world ― i hope you all enjoy what i have planned for charm in the future, and i hope it lives up to your expectations!

You, Across The Street | (a Suna Rintarou fic)
・❥・Chapter four; Year Ten (A Lesson About Life)
synopsis: At the age of five, you met the neighbor boy who lived just across the street, Suna Rintarou. As the years unfold, this story will chronicle the evolution of your friendship, year by year. But as life moves on and paths diverge, will it blossom into something more? Or will it remain a cherished bond between two childhood friends? “The lines between friendship and love often blur when you’ve known someone your entire life."
word count. 2.3k cw. childhood friends au, slow burn, middle school era, angst a/n. finally, I have time to update the story! I also have some ideas for other fics😀 Since this one is a slow burn, I'm thinking of making them too :)). Let's just see how it goes!
Masterlist
The promise you both made, though born of a fleeting moment and perhaps foolish in its spontaneity, remained sincere and heartfelt. Yet, its reliability was as fragile as glass, precariously held together by the shifting sands of circumstance. As hearts are swayed by life’s changes, what once felt certain can easily fracture and slip away.
With so many uncertainties awaiting you in the future, this might just be the beginning of how your paths will diverge.
You snapped your head towards the voice that called your name. It was Rintarou.
"Yeah?" you asked, momentarily disoriented.
You glanced around, taking in the familiar sight of Rintarou’s room. Lately, you hadn’t been able to hang out with him much because of your busy schedules. But today, thankfully, you both finally managed to find some time to chill together.
He shook his head, his eyes looking at you warily. "I said, what do you think about it? Should I just ask her out?" He leaned back against the headboard of his bed, fiddling with his hands. He was uncharacteristically nervous.
You were now at the end of eighth grade. Time had flown by so quickly, and before you knew it, middle school would be over next year. So many things had changed, yet so many things had stayed the same. Yumi and Mari were still your classmates, which made you happy, and the three of you had grown even closer. You and Rintarou also still didn’t share the same class, a constant reminder of what hadn't changed.
Some things had changed, though; biology was quickly becoming your favorite subject, you had joined the science club and were completely into it, and you’d become obsessed with snapping pics on the phone you got for your birthday—thanks to Rintarou, who definitely fueled that obsession.
Speaking of him, he’d changed too; his voice had taken on a deep, amusing tone, he kept growing taller, and his volleyball play was getting even more serious. And guess what? He’d even developed a new interest in a girl.
What did he say about having a girlfriend just two years ago?
The girl was Misaki, a fellow eighth-grader and a star player in the girls' volleyball club, which frequently interacted with the boys' team. That’s how she and Rintarou got to know each other. You’d noticed her a few times—tall, with an athletic build, and long, silky black hair that always seemed to move gracefully with her every motion, usually tied back in a practical ponytail. Her name was often on the boys’ lips, and it was no surprise. Misaki was quite the looker, combined with her warm smile and friendly demeanor that made her incredibly popular. Honestly, you had no reason to dislike her. Really. You had no reason.
You gulped and looked at him, feeling a knot tighten in your stomach. “Well, do you like her?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
He crossed his arms and furrowed his brow, contemplating your question.
“Well, if liking the way she serves the ball and spikes it, is included in ‘liking’ her, then, yes, I like her.”
You raised an eyebrow, tilting your head slightly. “But what about her? Do you like her as a person?”
“She’s nice, I guess,” he replied, scratching his head. “She gave me chocolates and offered advice about my blocking technique.”
He paused, then added with a shrug, “She also has nice hair.”
You nodded slowly, agreeing to him.
You tried to justify the uncomfortable feeling in your chest as envy because your friend was about to get a girlfriend while you hadn’t. But even that justification felt off. So, you pushed the feeling to the back of your mind. This kind of emotion was new to you, and you wanted to be as supportive as possible to your friend who had always been there for you.
Forcing a smile, you nudged him playfully. “Then, what are you waiting for?”

Rintarou had asked Misaki out on the last day of school, just before spring break, and Misaki, unsurprisingly, had accepted him with a radiant smile. She confessed that she had always liked him since the first year of middle school (something you’d suspected ever since Rintarou first mentioned her). She was over the moon, thrilled that he felt the same way.
The days that followed were anything but pleasant for you. Despite it being spring break, you found yourself watching from your window as Rintarou and Misaki went out every day. Hand in hand, they strolled through the blooming cherry blossoms, their laughter heard from your house. Rintarou had excused himself beforehand, explaining that Misaki had meticulously planned their break, so he couldn’t spend much time with you. He mentioned they wanted to explore new places and learn to play volleyball together with a few clubs. They even planned an out-of-prefecture trip with Misaki’s parents (who were very supportive of their relationship) to visit a renowned volleyball club.
How nice. How perfectly fitting for the both of them. They’re a match made in heaven, really. Both of them love volleyball and were popular. You should be happy he didn’t end up with someone like Ara (no offense to her, though). Yet, you found yourself far from happy. Instead, you spent your days cramped up in your room, re-reading your manga and novels, barely seeing the sun or the cherry blossoms blooming outside.
Your mother definitely noticed your mopey behavior and had the answer too about why you were acting this way. She wanted to plan a family vacation, but your father’s work was piling up, and he couldn’t take time off. So, she planned a one-day outing with you and Hana to visit your aunt who owns a flower shop.
You were pretty reluctant at first when your mother asked you to go out one morning. You’d much rather stay holed up in your room. But when she mentioned you’d be visiting your cool Obachan, your favorite aunt, you got interested. Plus, she had this beautiful flower garden and always gave you seeds to plant in your own garden. When you were younger, you used to go there more often, but these days, you rarely went. You only saw her occasionally at your grandparents' house.
So, here you were, at your aunt’s house. Nestled in the serene countryside of the prefecture, her house was a perfect mix of traditional Japanese architecture and vibrant natural beauty. On one side of the house, your aunt had set up a charming flower shop. The shop was a riot of colors and scents, with flowers neatly arranged in rustic wooden crates and ceramic pots. Roses, lilies, daisies, and chrysanthemums bloomed in profusion, creating a tapestry of nature’s finest art. Even though she lived alone, her house didn’t feel lonely. It was warm, welcoming, and full of life.
When you arrived, your aunt greeted you with a warm hug and a radiant smile that instantly brought back memories of your younger days visiting her. Her smile was a lot like your mother’s, only with a few more smile lines, reminding you she was your mother’s big sister. She served a pot of freshly brewed green tea and a plate of homemade mochi on the low wooden table as you sat on the mats covering the floor. Soon, your aunt started sharing stories about her daily life, talking about the seasons and how each one brought a new wave of beauty and tranquility.
—-
Your aunt had a bunch of flower seedlings and bulbs all set for planting. You both got to work, digging small holes in the rich soil and gently placing the seedlings into the pot.
“You’re doing great!” your aunt said with a warm smile, wiping a bit of dirt from her forehead.
You laughed, a little bashful, and shrugged. “Thanks.”
“So, how’s life been treating you lately?” she asked, glancing over while carefully patting the soil around a seedling.
“It’s fine, I guess,” you replied, your mind drifting to the past week and Rintarou with his new girlfriend. You sighed softly, trying to focus on the planting.
Your aunt paused, looking at you closely as she brushed her hands off on her apron. “I haven’t seen you in a while! You look more mature now, ___.” She gave you an earnest smile.
You smiled back, but it didn’t quite reach your eyes, and you kept your gaze down on the plants.
Your aunt set her tools aside gently and turned to face you, her brow furrowing in concern. “And even though we haven’t met for a while, I can tell something’s up.”
Your eyes widened. Was your somber mood that obvious? You bit your lip and glanced away.
“Wanna talk about it? You don’t have to, but sometimes it helps to share what’s on your mind.” She reached out and touched your hand lightly.
You hesitated, then whispered, “You won’t tell Mama?” You peeked at your mother and Hana, who were busy arranging flower buckets at another table, unaware of your conversation.
Your aunt nodded, making a zipping gesture across her lips and miming tossing away the key. “Promise.”
“It’s just... There’s someone in my life who’s changed, and it’s making me sad,” you said softly, your voice trembling a bit. “We used to go everywhere together, but now we haven’t spent a single day together this break.”
Your aunt nodded understandingly, her eyes softening with empathy. “I get it. Sometimes, as people grow and their lives change, the way they fit into ours changes too. It’s a part of life.” She gave your hand a reassuring squeeze.
“But why does it have to be like that? Why can’t things just stay the same?” you asked, frustration cracking your voice as you patted down the soil.
Your aunt gave a gentle smile. “Life is full of changes, honey. People grow, and so do their circumstances.”
“Well,” your aunt continued, “one day, when you’re older, you might find yourself in a different place, with different people. You might have your own family and responsibilities.”
You zoned out for a moment, then turned to look at your aunt, taking in the garden and her cozy house. How she was now living away from your mother. They used to spend time together when they were kids, didn’t they?
“Like you and Mama?” you asked tentatively.
“Exactly,” your aunt agreed, her voice soothing. “It's a natural part of growing up. Relationships change, but that doesn’t mean they’re any less important. They’re just different. And that’s okay.”
“So, are you saying I should just accept that things will change?” you asked, trying to wrap your mind around it.
Your aunt nodded. “Embrace the change and cherish the moments you have now. It’s important to be grateful for the time you share with people and to be open to new experiences and relationships that come your way.”
You took a deep breath, absorbing your aunt’s words. “I guess that makes sense. I just need to get used to the idea.”
Your aunt squeezed your hand reassuringly. “It takes time, and that’s perfectly normal. Remember, though, even if things change, the love and memories you’ve built with people stay with you. Those memories will always be a part of who you are.”
You processed her word for a moment then offered a small, grateful smile. “Thanks, Obachan. I feel better now.”
Your aunt smiled back warmly. “Anytime, sweetie.”
You continued planting together until the sun set on the horizon, casting a warm glow over the garden. After dinner, you bid goodbye to your aunt, who gave you some flower seedlings. Hana also proudly carried the flower arrangement she’d made earlier.
You were glad you decided to come out of your room today.

Today was the last day of spring break, and you felt pretty relaxed since you’d finished prepping all your stuff for school yesterday. Tomorrow was the first day of ninth grade. You sighed internally, knowing it would be way busier with all the high school entrance exam prep. You just hoped you’d get into the school you wanted.
Needing a bit of chill time, you decided to water the plants in your small front garden this morning. The seedlings from your aunt had been planted, and you were eager to check their progress every day. You grabbed the hose, turned the water on low, and started watering each plant.
As you were distracted with the watering, you suddenly noticed a pair of feet on the footpath in your garden. You looked up and saw Rintarou, smiling a little. It felt like you hadn’t seen him in forever, even though it had only been a few days. You’d see him, but not really hang out—just a wave from him as he rode his bike away or when Misaki came over to his house.
Honestly, you kind of expected you wouldn’t hang out at all this break. But here he was now.
“Hey,” he greeted you, looking a bit sheepish.
“Hey, Rin,” you replied, barely glancing at him as you continued watering your plants.
“Um…” He scratched the back of his head. “Wanna hang out?”
In the back of your mind, you really wanted to scream at him. Say something like, ‘Where’s that new cute girlfriend of yours?’ Maybe three years ago, you would have. But now, you decided against it. You didn’t want to be petty. Your aunt's words rang in your mind: embrace the change and cherish the moments you have now.
You took a good look at him—he seemed more fidgety than usual. It looked like he felt guilty? Was it because of not spending the break with you? You sighed. It wasn’t fair to make him choose between you and his new girlfriend. You’re sure if the situation were reversed, he’d be cool about it and understanding.
“Sure,” you finally said with a small smile. “Just let me finish this. I’ll ring your bell when I’m done.”
“Okay,” he answered, smiling.
“I’ll wait for you.” He stepped back and went to his house.
You didn’t know what the future held, but at least you wanted to enjoy the time you had with him now, before life took any more turns, before the inevitable changes swept you both in different directions.

---
Jason eyed Danny from his position on the couch, pretending to be completely engrossed in his book. Ever since the other morning, the teen had been acting... weird. At least, weirder than normal.
It had started when Jason had got up the day prior. As per usual after a gruling patrol, after breakfast and a shower, he had passed out as soon as his head touched the pillow, and stayed asleep until the sun was just an hour or two from setting. He probably would have slept in longer, but his stomach had made it's need for food known, and his bladder wasn't too happy with him either.
When he walked into the kitchen, intending to put together the world's greatest sandwich to tame his hunger, he had come in to the sight of the Demon brat and Jazz fast asleep, Jazz curled up like a content cat in the arm chair and Damien sprawled ungracefully on the couch. Both had been covered in throw blankets, and a Disney movie played on in the background. The only person not asleep had been Danny, who on first glance seemed to be back to working on his gun. And Jason would have left it at that, if not for the teen seeming to panic as he walked into the kitchen.
He had startled, flailed a bit as he whirled around to face the man. The gun had been hastily shoved under a pillow, out of Jason's line of sight. "Heeeey," The kid had drawled, his midwestern accent making the word roll off his tongue naturally. "I, uh. Didn't hear you get up?"
"...Okay?" Jason had raised an eyebrow at the teen, still not awake enough to deal with whatever was going on with him. "I got hungry. It's almost dinner time." He pointed out, his tone dry.
"It is?" Danny blinked owlishly at him before looking at the time. "Huh, I guess it is."
Jason couldn't help but smirk at the kid. "What, to absorbed in your work or something?"
It was meant to be a joke, just some light ribbing that was natural between him and his friends and family. Instead of laughing or rolling his eyes, like Jason was used to, the teen seemed to grow tense. His eyes drifted to the wall above Jason's shoulder, obviously trying not to look directly at the man, as he tried to laugh it off. "Me? Absorbed in my work? Psh, nah! I would never! Haha..." his laugh was audibly strained.
An awkward silence fell between them, Jason staring as the teen figited in place. "Uh-huh. Right, okay." Jason had to force himself to break the silence. "Well, I don't know about you, but I'm starved. How's about you wake those two up, and I'll make us all some sandwiches?" He had barely finished talking before Danny nodded enthusiastically, practiacally leaping to wake the others in the room.
Jason didn't mention Danny's weird behavior to either his sister or Damien, but he couldn't let it go either. And the more he observed the teen, the more he was convinced that Danny was hiding something.
That led to now. With Jason's face half-burried in his book and Danny fiddling with the gun's casing. Fiddling, not actually doing anything besides screwing and unscrewing the screws that fixed everything together. Every few minutes, he would put down his weird glowing screwdriver and pass his hand over the odd glass beakers on the back, almost as if checking for a change in them. Jason was left to assume he didn't find what he was looking for, as he would flip the gun and pick up his screwdriver again and repeat the process.
Finally, Jason had had enough. He closed his book and set it aside with an overly loud sigh. Just like he knew it would, his movement drew Danny's attention immediatly. "Okay, I can't stand this anymore." Jason let the exasperation leak into his tone and he stood from his arm chair, only to walk a few feet and flop down next to the teenager.
Danny let out a startled half-chirp, half-wheeze sound that shouldn't be possible for human vocal cords, quickly shoving the gun under the nearest pillow. "W-what do you need?" He asked, clearly trying for casual.
Jason shot him a look, one that conveyed just how much Danny wasn't fooling him. "What I need," Jason began, "Is for you to tell me what the Hell is going on with you. You've been acting off since yesterday, and I want to know why."
"Nothing is going on!" The teen answers, a little too quickly. He looked away from Jason, his eyes going his hands. It was way too obvious that he was lying. 'We definatly have to work on that,' Jason couldn't help but think, frowning at him.
Sitting up, Jason sighed. "Yeah, alright. The thing is, you see, when you look away like that, it makes it kinda obvious that you're lying to me." The teen jerked his gaze back to Jason's immediatly, swallowing hard as he met the deceptivally relaxed facade that the man wore. "Now that I have your attention, lets try this again. What happened between yesterday morning and now that has you so..." He trailed off as he tried to think of the word to descripe the teen. "...Paranoid?"
Danny seemed to hesitate, guilt shining through his unnaturally blue eyes. "I-" He stopped, as if searching for the words. Sighing, he seemed to deflate in defeat. "I've been lying about something." He admitted, his voice quiet.
Caution rose steadily in Jason. "Lied about what?" Had he lied about his feelings? Or maybe the potion? Was this about the 'cure' they seemed to have? Or maybe the original Love Potion? Jason's mind ran wild with thoughts and theories. "Is it something to do with you and Da- I mean, Robin?"
The teen seemed to sense the double meaning to the seemingly innocent words. "No!" He shook his head frantically. "No, no no! Nothing like that, I promise!" His assurences, despite the desperation in how he expressed them, seemed genuine enough.
A small sigh of relief escaped him as he nodded at the teen. "Okay, not to do with that. Then, what is it?" His suspision fell back to the gun, stashed not even a foot from him. "Does it have to do with that?" He gestured to the weapon, where it barely peeked out from the cushion.
The halfa's flinch was all the comformation he needed. "Y-yeah." He mumbled, his head dropping in shame.
"Is there something wrong with it?" God, Jason hoped not. The kid was the only one who seemed to understand how it functioned. Heck the only person that Jason could think of that might be able to help would be Tim, and that was if he didn't have an anrism at the spare parts that were used to make the damned thing.
"No, there's nothing wrong with it." Danny chuckled sheepishly as he reassured the man, his hand coming up to rub at the back of his neck nervously. "The opposite, actually. It's, um..." His other hand came up in a slighly aborted gesture. "It's fixed. Tada?"
Relief that he didn't have to try and understand whatever rocket science went into that abomnible creation temperarily stopped him from realising the full impact of the teen's words. "It's...fixed?" The teen nodded, not looking at him. "Like, fully functional and ready to use?"
"Well..." Danny's hand fell from his neck as his other came up in a so-so gesture. "It's functional, but it can't be used yet." Finally, the teen's head came up, though he still refused to look Jason in the eye. "It has no energy to function yet, so it's in power-collection mode, I guess." Turning slightly, the halfa pulls the gun from under the pillow, handing it to Jason for a closer inspection.
"So, it's fixed, but you can't use it yet?" He turned the gun this way and that, examining the Sci-fy weapon for anything odd. Well, odd-er than a gun that's soul purpose was to shoot a hole in the fabric of space and time.
"Nope. It's basically like a toy without it's batteries. It's cool, and fun to goof off with, but it doesn't do any of the things it's supposed to." His fingers grazed over the glass tubes on the back. "It'll take a few days for it to absorb the needed ecto for us to get home, so it's basically just a waiting game." As he spoke, a slight green sheen formed along the glass's surface, seemingly following the motion of his hand. When Danny pulled his hand back, the glow faded, but didn't disappear.
Satisfied, Jason handed the gun back to the teen. "Okay, so it's fixed. Why does that have you acting all weird?" It didn't make much sense. The whole reason they came here, to one of his more secret safehouses, was so that Danny could fix his gun. Why would he try and hide the fact that it was done, charging up and safe to use?
Obviously, Danny thought the answer was more than obvious. "Your serious?" He asked, his face screaming his disbelief. "You can't think of the one reason I wouldn't want to tell everyone?" When Jason shook his head, Danny let out a shocked giggle. It faded a bit into a whine of distress, making Jason eye the kid worriedly.
Before he could try and comfort the kid, as awkward and stilted as it would be, he spoke up. "If mine and Jazz's way home is ready to go, then what excuse do I have to stay?" The words were whispered, and wouldn't have been audible if Jason hadn't been right beside him.
The words struck him like a wooden plank to the head. Of course, how dumb could he be? Of course the kid would see it like that, like the only reason he was there to begin with was because he had no way home. To suddenly have a way home again? Why would he stay? He had no reason for remaining in this dimension. No reason, other than the fact that he was falling in love. But someone like the kid, like Danny, wouldn't see it that way. Especially if he still thought that Damien's feelings were purely caused by that potion.
Jason bit back a curse. Shook his head. Now was not the time to figure out the thought process the teen had gone through. Not when he was actively curling in on himself. Jason got the feeling that the kid hadn't really processed what completing the gun meant either. He knew what it meant, obviously, but it hadn't sunken in until his hand had been forced. Until he'd had to say the words out loud. The look of desperation and despair and acceptance on his face was heartwrentching to look at.
"Y'know, you don't necessarily have to have a reason to stay." Jason pointed out, speaking in a hushed voice.
"What do you mean? Of course I have to have a reason!" Danny turned to look at Jason again. "If I don't have a reason, that means I have to leave. I have responsibilities, a home, a life! I can't just up and disappear without having some sort of excuse for it! People would be worried, or want to know where I was!"
And that was the root of the problem, Jason realized suddenly. It wasn't that Danny thought he needed a reason to stay, it was that he needed to justify his absence to others. "Danny," without meaning to, Jason's voice softened, something that ususally only happened when comforting small alley children. "You don't have to justify yourself to anyone. If you want to stay longer, then you can. No one would blame you for it, and if they did, then they shouldn't be important to you anyways."
Danny huffed out a laugh. "I know that," He admitted. "I know I don't have to have a reason. But it just feels..." His words tapered off as he tried to think of what to say. Groaning, he burried his face in his hands.
"It feels wrong, because you think it's selfish."
"Well, yeah. It is selfish, isn't it? Because first I was staying because I didn't have a way home, and then it was because Robin needed my help with the potion's effects. But the cure is done and ready for Robin to take, and I have my way home charging up as we speak. The next step should be to just... go home." His hand rested on his chest, gripping tightly at his shirt. "But it, it hurts to even think of leaving. The thought of leaving Robin behind, or Robin taking the cure and me being right? It makes my core ache."
Jason could tell the teen wasn't really paying attention to just what he was admitting. The confusion on his face as he basically poured his heart out, the way he clutched at his chest as if the pain he felt was phyiscally effecting him. It took everything Jason had not to smile as he realized just how far the teen had fallen for his demon of a younger brother.
'It's like he came straight out of a Young Adult romance novel.' The thought, while true, was not helpful in the moment. Instead of bemoaning that his younger brother got to live the fantasy, he tried to think about what would get through to the kid.
Jason wasn't the best at comforting people in dire situations, he was basically flying blind here. Talking out feelings was not any of his families strong suits. But listening to this scrawny adoption bait practically wax poetica about his little brother, the one everyone was sure would either end up filling the mansion with cats, or marrying Jon, because of poor social skills(a distinct lack of interest in pointless civilian matters), made him search through all his people skills for the right thing to say.
"You know, you don't have to stay gone." That was part of the problem, right? Danny didn't want to leave Damian and never see him again.
"...what?" The confusion broke through the heartbreaking agony that the kid had been wallowing in.
"Yeah, you've got that gun fixed, at least enough to get back home. What's stopping you from coming back?" The panic and pain faded from the kid's face for a moment, before returning.
"But what if I'm right, and the potion works? Would Robin even still want to see me again?" The teen pulled his knees to his chest, tucking his feet beneath him and burying his face in his knees. "I know that after the love spell that made me fall in love with Sa- I mean, one of my friends, things were super akward between us. Would he still want to hang out around me?" If the kid didn't have density shifting powers, then Jason would be sure he coulnd't shove his face any further into his knees. He winced in sympathy, knowing that the kid would feel the imprints of his jeans later.
"Well, that sounds like a lot of 'What if's' again, kid." He decided that he'd question that 'Love Spell' bit later. Right now, he had to pull this kid's head out of his own doubts. "And we did talk about that already, didn't we?" Danny made a relunctant sound of agreement. "Right. So what changed? What made that conversation fly out of your head?"
"..." Danny was silent, his chest barely rising as Jason waited for an answer. Finally, a noise barely above a whisper, so quiet that Jason almost missed it. "I don't know."
"You... don't know what brought on all these thoughts?" The man tried to gently press the teen to think about it more. "There must have been something that made you spiral, right? It's not just about Robin not wanting to be around you, is it?" Danny hesitantly lifted his head, side eyeing Jason as he continued to prod. "And it can't be because your scared of what people would think of you. No offence, but you seem more of the 'doing things regardless' type."
"...well, I did mention that thing about my core, right?" The teen brought up hesitantly.
"Yeah, you did." Jason remembered. "The way you talked about it, you made it sound like it was your heart or something."
Danny laughed awkwardly. "Yeah, something like that." The teen sighed, uncurling slightly. "Okay, so to just call a core a heart is a massive understatement. A core is... like a heart and a brain and an immune system and a filter all in one." Jason couldn't help but blink blankly at the teen, his brain trying to process the amalgamation of words that he used to describe whatever a 'core' was.
When he felt like he had a handle on it, he nodded for the teen to continue. "So, cores do all these things for ghosts that the human body does for normal people. It's super important, and if anything happens to the core, it can hurt or even destabilize a ghost, which is basically like a more painful second death, one where you fade from the world instead of existing as a different entity." Jason nodded, focusing more on the core thing than the teen infront of him hinting at dying at some point.
"But it's not just physical injuries you have to look out for. Ghosts are emotional beings. My parents think that ghosts are just emotions imprinted on ectoplasm, not thinking or feeling being. They only got one thing right in all of that." The agony had faded from the teen's face finally, and in it's place, an intense focus as he tried to explain. Jason was counting it as a temporary win.
"So ghost are made of emotion?" It was the only thing that could make sense out of all of that, if only one part was right.
Danny snapped his finger and pointed at the man. "Got it in one. Ghosts are born from ectoplasm rich areas and an intense emotional output upon death. Smaller, less sentient ghosts that are born from emotions imprinting on ectoplasm without a death are blob ghosts."
"Blob ghosts?" Jason asked.
"They have a more technical name that Frostbite uses, but I usually just call the blob ghosts. 'Cause they're litteral blobs with faces that float around. They actually have an important job, keeping ectoplasm from getting stale or too thin in places close to portals and such..." The halfa physically shook his head, black hair fluffing up in a small cloud before settling messily again. "That's something I'll get into later. I was talking about cores."
"Right. Cores, something about... emotions?" The man leaned forwards a bit, resting his elbow on his knee as he reminded the teen where he had diverged from the original topic.
"Oh! Thanks. So, ghosts are made partially from emotion. We have obsession, things that we liked in life, or bring forth a particullarly strong emotional responce. Like, I have two, a main one and a passive one. Both are really good at bringing up emotions like contenment and excitment, which helps to generate ectoplasm and feeds my core. Because I'm half human, I don't have to rely on just my obsessions or the 'Zone to keep my core running. But just as much as emotions feed ghosts, the wrong emotion can hurt them. Things like rejection have to be handled delicatly, or you risk a core cracking. And ghosts being emotional being, we tend to get... attached, pretty easily. Even when we try not to." The kid let out a bitter laugh, running his hand through his hair.
"Wow. That's, uh. Definatly a lot to take in." Jason leaned away from the teen a bit. "Okay, so we should probably do a 'Ghosts 101' sometime. But for now..." Jason sorted through all the information he had just been given, internally thanking his bat training as he did. "So bad emotions hurt you, and things that bring up strong bad emotions can hurt you just as much as a physical injury?"
"If not more so, in some cases." Danny nodded. "Actually, emotional hurt is way worse than any physical injury. We can litterally lose limbs and regrow them in a day or so."
"I'm... gonna think about that later." Jason steered the conversation back on track. "Anyway, negative emotions are bad for ghosts. And you tried not to get attached, right? So you wouldn't hurt when you had to leave?"
"Lot of good that did me!" Danny huffed, crossing his arms.
"So when you think about leaving... oh. Oh." That made a lot more sense. "Huh."
"Yeah," Danny rubbed the back of his neck. "I didn't really register it until a few hours ago. I thought that it wouldn't be as bad with me, because of my, ah, unique situation." He gestured to himself vaguely. "But it appears that still being mostly alive does not exclude me from the side effects of emotional attachment." The way he said those last two words made Jason's lips tip up at the corners.
"So leaving would physically hurt you?" Jason clarified the true situation at hand. Danny looked like he wanted to protest, but let his shoulders droop in defeat as he nodded.
"Leaving without knowing if the emotional bond is truly broken or not would be like slowly being poisoned, especially if I never saw him again. And having the bond break quickly would be like breaking a bone." The teen grimaced, rubbing his hand over his chest again, as if he could feel the sensation. Knowing what he does now, it honestly wouldn't surprise Jason one bit.
"Well, what if you left before he took the cure?" Jason didn't know where the thought came from, but it made the teen pause and think again. "You could leave knowing the bond is mutual, and come back later when your more prepared for a negative reaction. Would that work?"
Danny considered it for a minute before hesitantly nodding. "I...guess that would work? At the very least, I could talk to Frostbite about it. If anyone knows how to safely break an emotional bond, or at least prepare for one to break, it would be him." Danny's face screwed up in a mixture of very identifiable emotions as he spoke.
"Hey, chin up." He gently bopped the teen's head, grinning at the indignant look he was faced with. "It would be good to talk to this Frostbite person, whoever that is, and be ready for if it happens. But," he looked Danny directly in the eyes, "that doesn't mean you have to focus on the bad outcome. Robin could be right, and he might keep his feelings, or he might not be in love with you, but still want to be friends." The halfa didn't look totally convinced, but he nodded anyways.
Jason sighed, leaning back into the couch. This was the best he could do on that front for the time being. Deciding to drop the topic for now, the man changed subjects. "You know that you'll have to tell Robin and your sister about the gun, right?"
Danny flinched slightly, but nodded. "Yeah, I know. I had planned on telling them...eventually..." He ducked his head again, this time out of embarrassment. Jason cracked a grin before forcing his expression back to a serious one.
"Well, I won't say anything." The teen perked up, a look of disbelief on his face. "But you need to tell them. Perferably sometime soon." He gave the teen a pointed look as he finally stood up, stretching as he turned towards the kitchen. "The other two should be back soon, so I'm going to get started on dinner. How do you feel about spagetti?"
----
Dick stared in horror at the mess that had been made in Alfred's kitchen. The man had gone out shopping randomly, stating that he had run out of some ingrediant or another that he needed for dinner that night. Barely thirty minutes later, and there were bowls and mixing utinsles littered over every surface. A pot bubbled threateningly on the stove, steam thick enough that Dick almost mistook it for smoke. And right in the middle of it all, sat Stephanie.
She barely looked up from where she was trying to cut a pineapple, the knife making a sawing motion as it stuttered through the fruit. "Steph?" He asked cautiously, making sure that he stayed firmly out of the kitchen. Alfred was not going to be pleased when he came back and saw this mess, and Dick did not want to be incriminated by setting a single toe into the disaster zone.
"Hey Dick!" She called out happily, not looking away from the mess she was making of the pineapple. "What's up? Did you need something?"
"Uhh, no. I'm alright. But what are you doing?" Wait... "Does Alfred know you're in here?" There was no way Alfred knew she was in here. Practically all of the family, barring Jason and Cass, were banned from the kitchen.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" She asked, expertly dodging the question.
'It looks like you're making a huge mess.' "Um, I have a good idea. But I might be wrong! So can you tell me what you're doing?" His smile was slightly strained as he tried not to grimace from the smell of burning sugar.
Steph turned around, letting out a startled noise as she moved to remove the bubbling pot from the stove. Turning off the eye, she set it aside on a pot holder, she grabbed a spoon and stirred vigurously before dumping half a cup of what Dick could only assume was milk into the pot. A horrible hissing noise arose, making the man take a step backwards. Steph completely ignored the terrible noise, using a fork this time to whisk the mixture.
Finally, she set the nightmare concoction aside and turned back to her butchered pineapple. "I told you, after I ruined your suit, that I would find a way to make it up to you!" She sent him a smile that in any other situation would be sweet, but now it only doubled the dread building in Dick's stomach.
"So you're trying to... cook for me?" It was hard to call whatever this was cooking, but he wasn't going to rain on the girl's parade. Alfred would probably chew her out once he gets back and sees what she's done to his domain.
"Would you call this cooking?" The qustion was mumbled, low enough that Dick barely heard it. Lifting her gaze to meet his, she smiled a bit wider as she spoke up. "I'm trying my hand at homeade candy! I tried to make you some homeade cereal, but..." Her gaze drifted over to a baking tray covered in black little balls that Dick now knew was supposed to be one of his favorite comfort foods. It was hard to keep the grimace off his face. "When that failed, I decided that caramel sounded like a great alternitive! But the recipe that Alfred had was a bit boring, so I thought, hey, doesn't fruit go good with caramel? I wanted to try apples, but Alfred said we were out. Then I saw the pineapple and thought, hey, that's kind of the same thing, right?"
Oh, she had to be doing this on purpose. Did he do something to set her off here recently? Siding with one of the others over her? A joke that irritated her? A villian that she had to take care of instead? No, nothing like that had happened. So what was it? What did Dick do to piss her off this badly? She didn't even look like she was mad, which was infinitly more terrifying than her being openly hostile.
"Riiight," Dick drawled out, taking a small step backwards as she brought the knife down with more force than necissary. "I'm just gonna... go look for one of my spare suits... they aren't where I left them last..." Slowly, he backed away from the doorway and down the hall, until he was out of sight of anyone that could be watching from the kitchen. Once he was sure that Steph wouldn't be able to see him, he turned and rushed back down the hall.
He had done something to invoke the scarrily petty side of his baby brother's ex, and if he wanted to survive the next few hours with all his hair and a settled stomach, then he needed to call in some backup. Normally, he would try and hide behind Damian, but with his littlest bat MIA, he had his second option avalible to him. "Duuuke! I need your help!"

✦┊ THREES A CROWD — embry & paul
WARNINGS: none
A/N: I don't even wanna look at when the last chapter was posted... the way I've forgotten completely about this is kinda embarrassing 🙈. Unedited because I just want it to be over. One more chapter left that I'll post eventually.
twelve ˖⋆࿐໋₊
Birds chirp happily outside your classroom window, and you glare half-heartedly out at the surrounding woods, unable to focus on whatever it was your teacher was talking about. You hadn't been able to get any sleep, kept awake with mounting paranoia.
After both Paul and Embry assured you that the vampire wasn't close enough for them to sense, Embry had immediately called Sam. The older man talked on the phone with you for a bit, going into greater detail about what the pack will do to ensure your safety.
They would have one of them posted at your house at all times. While at school, Sam would stay in the woods that surrounded the building, and would follow the bus you take home, waiting there for the one that would trade shifts with him.
You know the boys had been struggling in their classes before this, their late nights spent on patrol gave them no time to do any of their work, let alone time for themselves. You knew this was only going to make things worse for them, but Embry and Paul had assured you that everything would be fine. That they didn't mind. It was their job, after all. It didn't make you feel any better about it, anyways.
Fiddling absently with your bracelet, you let your eyes scan the forest from the safety of your second story classroom. Math, while not your worst subject, was also nowhere near your best. You were going to be very behind once this vampire shit is all over with, but you can't really bring yourself to care.
It's sunny, a rarity in Forks. Not that it brings you any comfort. You have no idea who the other vampire is, what they look like. Hell, what they sound like. It could be a classmate, for all you knew. And since some of them have powers, what's stopping this one from being immune to the effects of the sun?
It's pointless, scaring yourself with what-ifs. You know, because it took nearly half an hour for Embry, Paul, and Sam to calm you down enough before they left you in the protection of Jared.
The last bell of the day rings out, but you only notice when the students around you shoot up out of their seats. You slowly follow suit, collecting your unopened textbook and head out the door.
You feel numb, going through the motions of opening your locker. You don't even know what you put into your bag, stuffing the first thing you touch into it blindly.
When you turn around, you don't even jump when Bella Swan's concerned eyes stare back at you. She looks much better than she did a few days ago, the dark bags under her eyes lightening up. You feel like it had just transferred onto you, eyes drooping with your lack of sleep.
"Hey," Bella starts, hesitating when she notices just how bad a shape your in, "Do you want a ride home? You don't live too far from my house."
"Nobody lives far from anyone," you mumble. Pulling your bag higher up you shoulder, you close your locker behind you, not bothering to lock it. Whoever feels the need to snoop will only find textbooks in there anyways.
"I'm fine, Sam said it's fine if I take the bus."
"If you're sure," Bella says, still hesitant. You can tell she feels out of her element, and you're warmed by her concern. Lifting a hand, you give her arm a squeeze, before brushing past her and towards the bus.
You're the last one to get on, forced to share the seat with a freshman. You don't mind it as much as you normally would have, but you can tell he's uncomfortable. You're basically a zombie, staring at the seat in front of you with unwavering intensity.
Tomorrow you'll probably feel embarrassed by it, but you can't feel much of anything, right now. You feel beyond exhausted, more than you ever have before. And you've had your fare share of sleepless nights, playing games until the sun rises.
The bus jerks to a stop, and you look up, surprised to find yourself at your stop. You stumble from the bus, walking down the street behind your other classmates.
Slowly, they all veer off, going down other streets or into their houses, until it's just you. But you don't panic, because Sam said he would be following you. And for as intimidating as he is, you knew you could trust him.
You hear your name called, and it takes an embarrassing amount of time for you to turn towards the voice. Candice is walking out of her front door, the trunk of her car open, "Doing any better today?"
You hesitate, looking towards you house. Sam said you should go straight home, and avoid being in places that would be hard for them to get to just in case. But for some reason, you find yourself walking over to Candices house.
"No," your eyes drift to the bags in her trunk. The bags are all black, the handles tired off on the top so that you can't see what's inside of them, "do you want some help?"
A slow smile spreads across Candices face, and she tilts her head as her gaze flicks over your shoulder. It's brief, so quick that you don't question what had caught her attention.
"Sure. I would love the help."
You wait for her to grab some bags, taking the last two left in your hands. It's a struggle to close the trunk, whatever was in those bags was heavy, arm shaking as you lift into the air.
As you force your arm down on the trunk, your bracelet gets caught in the handle. One of the charms snap off as you jerk your arm back, and you watch in dismay as it rolls down the driveway.
Candice is waiting for you at the front door, letting you pass her by before she closes the door behind you.
Her house is spotless. That's the first thing you notice as you look around. It's dark inside, the curtains drawn tight. The lights she has are dimmed, only bright enough to make out where everything is.
You toe off your shoes, not wanting to dirty her very white carpet. You can see the dinning room from the front door, the table covered in dark bags. Placing the other bags next to them, you open the bag closest to you to help put things away.
But it's not food inside of the bags. Thick, blue rope stares back up at you, and lots of it. When you turn around, Candice is standing right behind you.
Instead of the blue eyes you remember her having, they're now red. Just like the woman in the woods. Just like the ones you've been seeing. As recognition passes onto your groggy face, Candice lets her smile warp into one of cruelty.
"I'm sorry it had to come to this," she whispers, hand coming up to brush against your cheek. It's cold, just like when she had pressed it against your forehead. But now you know it wasn't your mind playing ticks on you.
"Please," you slur, head dipping. It's getting harder for you to keep your eyes open, and your legs can barely hold you up anymore. You lean heavily into the table behind you, knocking one of the tables off the edge, "please let me go."
It makes sense now, this unshakable exhaustion that's been clinging to you. It was her.
"I can't, not after they touched what was mine," her hand drops from your cheek to wrap around your throat, slowly tightening, "their stench all over you, muddling the sweet smell of your blood. I've waited too many years to let them have you."
Your gasping around her tight grip, hands clawing helplessly at her arm, but it's no use. Black pours into the edge of your vision, heart pounding frantically in your chest. As the darkness threatens to consume you, you hear Candice whisper one last thing before you loose consciousness.
"My beautiful blood-singer, I won't let anyone have you."
